Scratchbuilt Terrain - G Scale Billboard - UPDATE 11/24

Some months ago I posted a couple of WIP shots of my first scratchbuild terrain piece -- a G Scale billboard for my father in-law to go with his model railroad collection.

Well today is his birthday so I\'m finally getting it finished. With the exception of some additional shrubs and tall grasses it\'s good to go.

Would love some feedback on this one - thanks in advance.

Not bad, it looks kind of \"home-made\" but I think that was your intention. Nice tags on the back ;)

Yup, certainly part of the intention - and I added that to the description.

\"Part of the intent was to make the sign look hand painted -- thus the signature and phone number in the corner and the paint drops on the planking.\"

I couldn\'t leave well enough alone... so I had to add the sign painter (modified from a store bought piece), paint cans, lights and additional touches.

The wires you see hanging down in the back will power the lights -- but I\'m leaving them for my father in-law to finish since I\'m not sure what connectors he uses.

I\'ll remove the existing piece in my gallery and replace it once I have a chance to clean up the images a bit. Hopefully I\'ll even get a shot of the billboard with the train set.

whoa! You dad-in-law should be very impressed!

He only had to trade his daughter for a \'in-the-family-model-builder\'! LOL

Thanks for the feedback - both old and new - I got the new image uploaded for voting:

Once this one is live I will remove the original.

The addition of lights made a BIG difference. I plan on getting a shot once it\'s all hooked up with the rest of the train set as well.
