Screaming Faces

anyone got a link to a tut on how to paint screaming faces? you know the ones, on chaos armour/tanks/banners. It looks like soouls are trying to escape:evil::twisted:

i would paint them according to the color scheme of your army ... sorry if that sounds lame

If I recall correctly, Tony Manero did straight talk and was blunt on his criticisms. Which is fine, but I believe he was on the receiving end a couple of times, which prompted him to yank his gallery on more than one occassion.

Makes me think of that old saying, \'don\'t dish it out, if you can\'t take it.

I could be wrong on this, but thats the way I remember it.

Tammy Haye did some fantastic ones on a chaos champion, it was a long time ago and her site isn\'t up anymore, so if this jogs any memories and someone knows where her pics are now...

You mean THIS ONE.
The technique is to paint triangles and V\'s into the shape of a face (think of the Khornate Skull symbol) then work on the highlights and red ink.
It\'s hard work for a lot of faces, but very effective non the less.
And while Tammy did it with red\'s it can easily be done with grey fading out of black backgrounds.

That\'s not the mini I\'m thinking of but, yeah that looks similar to what she did...

for the life of me I can\'t remember the minis name, he was a khornate champ, holding an axe up high in his right hand
I can \"see\" the blooming thing, I\'ve even painted it myself...

It\'s not in what remains of her gallery, as it was done for White Dwarf and as far as I know is in the Warhammer world museum.
