Sculpey layering......

Hi guys I am curently doing a scratchbuilt large scale Demon jobby for a diorama...

The piece will be quite large about 12\" and I am looking at building up the model in several layers..base shape first texture final texture....etc..

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems regards reheating the sculpey for multiple layers..?
Any pitfalls or things to watch out for...??

Any advice at all greatly appreciated.

me too! :)

I haven\'t given it a shot myself, but I think there may be problems if it\'s fully reheated repeatedly. Someone once suggested partially heating it to set it, so that too much heat wouldn\'t bother the inner bits.

I\'d be interested in hearing from someone who knows what they\'re talking about, though, as I\'m starting something large, too. :p

well..

supersculpey is best if not used on very thick parts; instead use an armature and fill space with aluminum foil, green stuff, apoxysculpt, etc.

When I have used it, due to my armature..I did a rough shape layer, but then added more super sculpey right on top for detailing.

Ahhhh Tinfoi now there\'s an idea.....There are some fairly big bits but packing out with tinfoil could be useful (and save a bit of money)

I\'m looking at probably finishing off the finer texture with GS as I can see these having problems when reheated...

cheers guys
