Sculpting cables

Hello, my Death Guard Lord conversion is almost finished and I\'m very pleased with the result. There is just one thing to can\'t get right. I based my Lord on Tammy Haye\'s fantastic Thyphus conversion in WD 291. I cut Typhus left arm of to reposition it. While everything is already resculpted, I just can\'t get the cable on the vox right. I tried GS, but I can get a nice round cable. I roll a little snake from GS and try to press is softly the to model, but I won\'t stick and if I use more force I lose the round shape. So, does anybody have a good method for sculpting these cables? Here\'s an example of the cable I meen, it\'s the one coming from the vox:

And here\'s a little pre-painted scan of my Lord. The left arm isn\'t glued on yet, I just bluetac so I can get a nice scan of what the model should look like when it\'s done;) I know the scan isn\'t very clear, the left hand came from the hand with the pointy finger from the WHF Nurgle Lord.

I use thin steel wire or brass rod bent to shape then with even thinner copper (electrical) cable wrapped round it. Then i drill two small holes where the ends need to go and glue them in - much tougher!

Most shops that sell guitars and stuff sell spare strings... a Low E gauge .048 should be suited to your needs i think..

Yup eletric guitar strings is the ticket..or if your luck guitar strings that have been cast in pewter. I have a nice supply of them from my Partha days but Ive been toying with the idea of making and selling a variety of sizes for this purpose.
