Sculpting Clear Waves

well... i know yet how to sculpt waves... but in my last wip (the lent grey knight) i\'ve decided to do the water with the clear water effect stuff

NOW... how can do semi-clear waves? i can\'t do them in the LOTR diorama way because they are matt... i want to do waves partially clear that become matt on the top (because the sea foam)... HOW CAN I DO THEM ?????????

:|~ the bad thing is that the water effect stuff is liquid and autoflattening so it can\'t be modelled or sculpted.... even when it\'s almost dry cuz it\'s extremely sticky... even more than gs...

Vallejo appears to have water-effect gels already colored, just saw Fantization.com is carrying them.

Well, there is various methods as to waves, but the best is clear casting resin and if you rub the resin when in advanced gel state, you can get the wave affects. Yes, acrilic paints tint it well for coloration, but do not use ink, it tends to form balls and does not change the color. Stipiling works for the foam, but if you want to get wave crests, you can form those out of clear silicone, the types for windows and such, comes in tubes from home hardware stores. Can be tinted and such. Best to lay out things like waterfalls on wax paper to cure up, but can be shaped and even carved out to form waterfall splits and such. akes a little practice, but produces great and realisic results.
