Sculpting Contest

I know we get a few greens on the site, so i hope this post isn\'t untoward. It\'s about a sculpting contest some of you might be interested in...Tom Meier is one of the judges.

\"Here it is, and without further delay, we give you the first FU!UK Pro-Am Sculpting Contest:

The Alice in Wonderland Sculpting Contest
FU!UK\'s first annual sculpting contest. The aim of the contest is to receive submissions of original sculpts from you (the frother community), which will then be judged by a team of renowned frothers from different corners of the hobby.

1. The theme: Alice in Wonderland.
That’s right, the theme is to be Alice in Wonderland. You can chose whatever character you want, the only limitation being that it has to be visibly inspired by the story of Alice in Wonderland and it has to be sculpted in 28mm scale.

There will be four categories you can enter: “Alice”, “The Tea Party”, “The Royal Court” and “Other Wonderland Characters”. You can enter as many different figures as you want in as many different categories as you want.

Professional and Amateur may both enter – the angry young sculptors should be ready to humble their elder peers.

2. The Judges
Who will decide which entries are the most frothworthy? To allow for inclusion of all possible considerations in the final decision, the contest will be judged by a panel consisting of able representatives from various sections of the hobby: a famous sculptor (Tom Meier), an experienced mouldmaker (Pete Brown), a great painter (Sturmhalo) and since it’s a FU!UK contest, a frother (WK). WK is chairman and holder of the casting vote if needed.

3. The Winners
There can be only one... erm... well... four, and... erm... maybe more. Crikey!

Each category will have a winner (the category’s first) and runners up.

The winner of each category will be moulded and cast up at our expense. A full set of the figures will be given to each winner, with a few individual castings of their figure. If the quality of the entries is of a high level we reserve the right to cast up the runners up as well, who will then also be given a full set of the figures and castings of their own sculpts.

Winners should be prepared to send their sculpts to mouldmaker Pete Brown at their own expense (we can\'t pay for everything) and risk (mail).\"
