I have been looking for a good article on sculpting flames. I am trying a conversion and I need piller type flames , maybe some thing simulare to the flame thrower on Firey Angel (victoria). So far no luck. Any help?
I cut indivdual flames out of thin sheet styrene and then heated them up and twisted them to a curvey shape. Then glued them together into a bunch and tied it together with some two part putty. Here is a picture if how they came out.
Woodland scenics puts out a product called \"Water Effects\". It has the consistency of a very stiff white glue. Squeeze a little, lift up and it creates perfect spikes. It dries perfectly clear (takes a fair number of days). If you paint it with very thin color, it maintains some transparency just as flames would.
