Sculpting putty and Games Workshop minis

Reading articles here, I gather that the epoxy-based sculpting putty has evolved since "the green stuff." It seems like a lot of people prefer Procreate or Magic Sculpt. My current usage is not to sculpt from scratch, rather to fill voids during prep; and, this is for GW plastic minis. The Procreate pamphlet says it doesn't stick to "soft" plastics and I'm assuming that includes GW minis.

So, what putty do GW modellers use if not the green stuff? Or, perhaps, one must use the green stuff with GW minis?

I would stick with either Green Stuff (solid / liquid) or Milliput for filling gaps. Green stuff is great for sculpting and holds it's pose well whilst being fairly tensile, and Milliput can be sanded to a glass like finish but it more brittle when dry. You can mix the two as well for the best of both worlds which is what I tend to do at a ratio of 1:1.

Hope that helps.

By soft plastics, I assume they mean something like vinyl. Never had any problems with normal epoxies sticking to the major brands' plastic models. For gaps, I'd use a mixture of gs and magic sculp. This will give the gap strength and also allow you to smooth the putty better than gs alone. Buy both from sylmasta (or another independent stockist if you are outside the UK), it'll be a LOT cheaper than gw
