Ooh a nice new wip section.
Could one of the powers that be lock down the other sculpting wip thread and move it to this section please.:D

Thought it would be a good time to start a fresh one.

Here\'s a little something to start things off and hopefully it will be helpfull for some.

Most of the time I make these from spare putty that has gone just too hard for other uses. Got a bag full of little bags. All shapes and sizes and they come in pretty handy.

my hasn\'t the site got all fancy lately? i\'m gonna struggle to fit all of those smilies into posts. i\'ll have to go all bme!!

nice little tip there klute. it\'s a better way than the way i used to do it. i also make little drawstring pouches from putty left over sometimes as they are easy to affix to models

Hi Guys quick question if you could help please.
I am constructing a base for a GD entry..
I am going to be using sculpey for most of the groundwork as I want a fairly oranic feel.
I was wondering two things.
with setting sculpey in the oven can you set it with wooden parts in there i.e the base
also can you set it with metal parts.
If you\'d could poss answer before I start and burn the house down that would be massively appreciated.
Thanks
b.t.w Klute Have been following all your tips so far and am seeing a real difference in my sculpting will post wip pics as soon as poss for comment and critique.

Granddad!
I should think you\'d be OK with wood & metal, don\'t take it as gospel tho
PM minimaker he\'d know

@Mark: had a go at the pouches, came out ok. Also made some \'tools\' with some hypos, will try and get some pics done shortly

Faces tutorial from Gubs...

Here is a quick faces tutorial posted by Mr. Gubser (Prophet) on the Frothers Unite UK board:

These should print out at Letter Size if printed at 72 dpi.

I grabbed the images and put them onto pages and added the text from Herr Gubser. Everything else was his work.

Hope this helps someone.

Cheers,
Eric

PS
Gubs, if you have any issues with me doing this, please let me know and I will remove the links.

Adding wood and metal when curing sculpey is OK as long as you keep the temperature down. Some of the low melt alloys will melt at sculpey curing temp.

here we go

had a go at doing the pouches, didn\'t come out to bad, albeit more 54mm than 28 I\'d say.
included some tools I\'ve made from hypos in the pic too

*edit* made the pic a bit bigger so it\'s a bit clearer

Nice one Mick. I find that I dont bother too much with scale when doing the pouches and stuff. You end up with that many at different sizes that theres a good selection to choose from for a sculpt or conversion.

well now I know what to do with my left overs other than just little balls or sausages  I\'m sure I\'ll gradually build up a supply of various sizes :D
thanks again for the tip:cool:

it\'s based on the techmarine art which is on the page 14 of the marine codex.
needs lots of smoothing and lots of \"imperial\" stuff.

any suggestions how to make it better and any tips, tricks and techniques how to improve as a sculptor are very, very welcome :D
