There are lots of tools in carriers on the hull (axes, shovels, etc.) If they are bolted on and painted with the tank, no problem, but when they get used, the paint rubs off or they get grimey - or they get lost and replaced by a different similar one (battlefield salvage).

Dont worry, i haven\'t started painting any of them yet, i have only been concentrating on overall weathering and painting so far.

Tried it, it worked fine. I mixed some power with acrylic, varnish, power resin and some very fine flock for a mud mix. Will post pics soon, off to town for a bigger brush (been painting this with a size 1 so far) and a dvd to keep me entertained...

Indeed =). Gonna be giving this project a hold for a few days. Just got a rackham mini from kaine, so i\'m gonna give that go, then prehaps work on this when thats drying..

Hi alextheartist, The painting effects are not bad, maybe a little over rusted, but the whole model is let down by 2 points, the barrel isn\'t straight and the tracks need track sag, the best place to go for help and constructive criticism is www.missing-lynx.com armour modelling is a specialized hobby of its own. Another point, the pioneer tools, whilst technically not incorrect to paint them the same colour as the cammo the paint generally wore off the wood with use especially the jack block, Keep up the good work.

Indeed they are vynal (sp, i know) and are slightly too short for the tank and so are taught rather than sagging down.
As for the barrel, i know its wonky, like i said it was only a cheap kit and i did travel through a few countrys with it in my bad, so a little damage was to be expected.
Finally the over rusted effect. My first attempt at using weathering powders, of course i\'m going to go ott, they are just so much fun!
Picked up a Miletary in scale mag yestoday, which has loads of step by step guides. Really good buy, will get a subscription methinks..

dragon kits are the elite class for tanks mate.
combine with brass etching and you get one hell of a detailed piece of kit.

Dam straight, i did make sure i got one the cheapest kits though. From a peak inside and cleaning up the wheels it looks really good. The plastic is solid and very nicely detailed. Cant wait to get stuck in =)

Zimmerit was up to September 1944, after that it wasn\'t applied.
the \"late\" part of the title with various production desighns just refers to the period of war that, that current desighn was used. (basicly updated suspension, engines etc)
if the model doesn\'t have zimmerit on it don\'t bother applying it.
just practice the general afv skills.
it\'s one hell of a learning curve applying/sculpting good zimmerit onto something, so wait until your other skills have improved.
