Hi,
I recently purchased the darkson designs painting guide. In it there\'s an article by Alexi_Z. In the article it says to paint se-nmm over a black casecoat but in countless other articles it says to paint it over white. So what do you think? Black or White?

it\'s all down to preferance.

i do nmm and senmm from black as well but i know others who prefer to start from white.

if you prefer to blend up then start from black.
if you prefer to shade then start from white.

hope it helps

It depends on the colour of the senmm really.
For silver or gold I would stick with my black undercoat and basecoat the senmm colours from there.
I do my silver and gold nmm over a black basecoat so converting it to senmm is just a matter of applying the horizon and adjusting the brightness of the sky/earth.
On the other hand if it were for a chrome senmm then I would rebase the area with white first so the sky and earth ( blue and brown ) would turn out brighter easier.
