Cyril will excuse me for putting this up without his express permission, but through the Headblast fourms, I got to his webspace and found in progress and extreme close ups there.. these\'ll definatly help most of us out and since he was answering a post, I can only guess they were meant to help!!

Nurgle Champ
I can\'t even see the brush strokes this close!!

Scrap Thrall 1Scrap Thrall 2
These show his priming technique, Straight from his mouth: \"I spray first the mini with back, next with grey on the top,and i finish with a little bit of white.
Like that, you can create a strong zenithal lighting very easely. On the pictures i did it with spray cans, now i do it with an airbrush.\" I was thinking of doing something like this.. great minds think alike? :D

His Painting Lamp
Cyril\'s lamp.. once he said this was one of them true light or sun light lamps...

An Anime Garage Girl
This is kinda what I did for my Rei.. gotta paint the eyes all anime style!

Sculpting Tools
Is that a GW brush? Ack!!

How he does weapon swaps..
Erm.. anyone speak fluent French for teh .txt file?

Armatures from Skeleton and Wire
Oooh, I needed to know that!!

Hope this helps GREATLY!!!

That close-up is really amazing
Just like the closeup of that I-Kore miniature in his CMON gallery. His paint has to be VERY thin to do such a thing....

Cheers Chrispy

Staggering that close up:eek:

I\'d seen the Zenithal spraying of primer done in an old Military Modelling magazine by Adrian Bay (Scratch built Aragorn at last years UK Gamesday). He\'d primed grey, sprayed black from below and then white from above. He used enamels to make washes over the primer.
Makes so much sense really!

cheers for posting

Hell, i think this guy has come from an other planet to show us how pahtetic we are... I love his stuff. If everything goes well, I´ll see him at the GD Germany this month. I´k wandering what he might look like.

That close up is simply outstanding. Curious as to how long something like that takes him. That level of blending is just amazing.

A large number of glazes and very good colour theory are what lead to those results.

Something which can only be learnt over time with practise and study. Congratulations to Cyril for his successes at GD

Now that\'s impressive.....

...nice close-up. Mine don\'t look that good from 3 feet :(

@Chrispy - re the GW brush. It\'s not what you got...it\'s how you use it ;)

Actually according to his site, JAkob Nielson (one of my personal favourites) uses solely GW brushes. Perhaps we should all make the switch? lol

After 255 votes an average score of 9.4 is utterly mind boggling!!!!

You have got to bear in mind that out of 255 people, there has to be at least 4 dickheads, 3 morons, and half a dozen utter \'grippers\'. To have only dropped 0.6 of a point from a perfect score therefore is an amazing achievement:D

I was about to say, 9.4 is damn good! although it\'s not my fave Cyril piece, I think the colours make the marine look like he\'s made of stone, but that\'s just me being difficult.

Marine armour always looks like it\'s made of stone in artwork as well.

And the name \"Ceramite\" doesn\'t really sound like a metal alloy either.

I can only assume it\'s \"only\" a 9.4 due to people\'s personal preference of the technique and the stylised look. But to me the brushwork and application of the techniques used is better than anything else I\'ve seen on this site.

Heh, that\'s the vagaries of a democratic voting system...

Don\'t get me wrong..it gets a definite 10 as far as I am concerned.... but I wouldn\'t necessarily expect 254 other people to agree with me.

It\'s always a shock when just one does..:D

In the fluff, ceramite is a kind of stone/ceramic material. Extremely heavy, tough ablative armor.
