Seeking a fancy box

I recall seeing some time ago some pictures posted by that rather nice bloke dragon forge design of a box he made himself to transport minis...

Basically, I don\'t have the time to make one and would like to have one made using some nice materials so I don\'t have to worry about paint being rubbed off my minis.

Does anyone know a good chippy or anyone capable of doing this for me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I\'m pretty sure Jeff made some to sell, but didn\'t/couldn\'t sell them overseas due to postage costs.

I\'d try PM\'in or emailing him about them. (Though he will probably read this thread)

@Jeff: is that 12mm WBP Ply?

Not sure what WBP means but is is 12mm (9 Ply) Baltic Birch Plywood, Marine grade assembled with waterproof glue, joinery and nailed. . All nail holes filled and finished sanded and Hinges, handle and clasp installed.

Ahhh - Sorry Mick, I already committed to buy from Jeff.

Aside from that if someone were to make one from solid birch or maple with a good rich pattern, nice dovetail joints high quality matching latches, handle and hinge... That would cause me to upgrade later ;)

Sorry... meant to ask... how to people \"attach\" minis to the box? I was kinda assuming it was just a load of bluetac?

I have seen some minis with a nut integrated in to the base that can be bolted to the tray but that\'s not an option on some of my minis.

Most use the blue/yellow tac method..others use the nut and bolt method.
Apparently the best yellow tac is sold in france..

I got one of Jeff\'s boxes a couple months ago. Been my best buddy at conventions and now I don\'t have to check my minis to those evil people at the airports :(

Does blu tak REALLY hold it enough? I\'ve been using it, but I put a lot of foam around my models at the same time, in case of wobbling, and sometimes the blue tak is not sticking when I open the box - despite careful transport.

I use white tak from bostik, its cheaper and i find it a little more grabby..

Well i surpose if you at the comp on sat i can show you :p

I usually try to score the tack as much as I can before I stick em down. Just don\'t shake the box like mad and you should be fine :)
