Guys, can anyone recommend an online store that I could order better quality brushes? Best that the store is in UK or Australia... Countries that near Asia. Or else the postage will be very expensive.

Previously I use the Vallejo Kolinsky Red Sable. But now the online store in UK no longer carry it. So I\'m out of good brush to paint good free hand design.

If your looking for a good match to the vallejo Rosemary and co\'s red sable are just the job work just the same as your used to without the annoying flat tip and splitting that seems to plague vallejo brushes... An improvement of quality are the kollinsky sable series33 but also for freehand series 22 designer are great slightly longer bristle that hold more fluid to maintain control with freehand.

@DH, you seem to favor Rosemary&Co. judging from this and earlier posts. I had been checking their kolinsky line recently, what, to you, is the main difference between the series 33 and 22.

Granddad!
I like the ones I have
from the catalogue the 22\'s are \"..somewhat longer and slimmer than Series 33....\"

I also got a Squirrel(1) and a Mongoose(1) too
the Squirrel I use for inks/washes/glazes and the Mongoose is super soft so nice for blending

I\'m a confirmed fan of Rosemary and Co - first rate service and the quality of the brushes is fantastic. Good value for money too.

as mick says the 22 are a slightly longer bristle .. this I find a lot better for freehand as it allows me to hold more moisture and pigmnt yet still keep control meaning I\'m not heading back to the pallette as much when working on fine lines etc .
Both are great brushes.I\'ve also got a fe w of the other types and shapes for bases and the like. also got a few series 33 with triangle handles which are a godsend as I broke my fingers several times when younger and get stiffness i them fairly easy and the larger grip handle is a lot more comfortable.

Hmmm... Seem like everybody confident with Rosemary\'s brushes. I shall have faith on everyone words. I\'m sorting out my order list 1st... :D Hey, Coolmini starts to sell Winsor & Newton Series 7 already. Any comments of this brush?

they, W&N, will last you at least 4-5 times longer than any other brush, with the proper care of course.
but if your budget doesn\'t stretch that far R&Co comes a pretty close second

Discount Art (UK) have a sale on of W&N series 7\'s at the moment

W&N used to be very good but the quality definitely isn\'t what it was. I have a few series 7s and compared to the Rosemary\'s I\'m currently using they are definitely second best. Rosemary\'s are quite soft but have enough spring to make them really easy to control.

If you look after them, they\'ll last just as long as the W&Ns.

Anybody else prefer the Raphael 8404? I find them a lot firmer then the WNs7. I think I\'ll pick up some of the Rosemary brushes though, give em a whirl.

I\'m not a huge fan for the firmness reason tat said I do have some and they do get used.. different brushes dfferent job\'s I guess...

W&N\'s as well I have bt haven\'t bothered with them for a long ile.. and as mentioned the quality has been poor of late.

Hmmm... It seem like everybody comes with different taste on brushes. For me, I like more softer brushes coz doing free hand alot and plus, the current brush Vallejo Kolinsky ReD Sable I using is very soft. Maybe I should try both and see which want I like.

having used the Vallejo Red as my staple for 4-5 years and trying the other brands I can safely say that Rosemary\'s red sable are almost an identical match and seriess 33 an upgrade .. series 22 a great freehand.... PM me your address and I can send you an example 33 FOC if you wanna try it out....
