i have never done it but a good place to look would be arjays gallery. study his stuff and it may make more sense. however what you have looks really good.

EDIT: since the shield is curved you may want to curve the horizon line. otherwise it looks like a flat surface.

I am not an expert, but the metal should reflect what it is aimed at. Don\'t treat it as one big piece - every single buckle should have its own reflections. I tried sketching in what I think should be about right:

Please note that my picture is horrible, but I think it kinda conveys the basic idea.... I skipped some parts, as I see now, but basically everything that is elevated should be treated as its own part.

In addition to the curved like Aliengod3 mentioned, all of the little details would have their own reflections as well. Each of the points should have both sky and earth on them.

Smoother gradients would be a good first step but you\'ve got the basics down.

Just to reiterate what Mosch has shown in his quick pic - if the surface is curved or angled in the right way to reflect the sky (upwards), show the sky; if it\'s curved/angled in the right way to reflect the ground (underneath), show the ground. This should help if you have trouble visualising it:

Last thing to add are tiny pinpoint highlights in pure white here and there (with a consistent point of reference) to really make it look \'shiny\'.
