Nice vibrant colors. Not convinced with the helmet OSL though. Distracts from the rest of the minis.

The OSL on the arch base looks good. As for the helmets, doing a glow from those visors it tough. The one thing I'd change is the color of that one knight's feather. It looks like the same colors as the OSL glow. I imagine you didn't want to introduce another color but I feel like linking it with the OSL tones hurts the illusion. I know they're just gaming minis, so something to watch out for next time.

Looking good! The arch with the dragon really stands out to me, awesome weathering and beautifully vibrant scheme.

Thanks so much, guys!

The dudes on the WAMP forum asked how it was done. I used the hairspray technique. It's the second or third time I've tried it, and I'm still trying to learn how to "control" it. The paint can just wash right off in clumps and patches, if you're not careful.

And I've pretty much run out of time...

I "finished" Willie and Electrical Creation #3 tonight, and I stalled out after repainting the OSL on the Gamin.

Willie was a tough exercise in painting skin. Too much contrast, not enough contrast, back-and-forth, back-and-forth. I finally gave it up and called it "lesson learned".

I received my Kickstarter for Arena Rex. I like! The production quality is top-notch. The rulebook is appropriately compact for the game; both the alternative-history fluff and the game rules are well-written; and the game mechanics look very tight. I especially like the prospect of pushing opponents into pits or the waiting jaws of lions!

I'm still waiting on models for "Septimus" and "Septimus and Nero", and then I'll have a full and proper cohort to do battle.

Bailey03, I'm calling you out! You and I can do a WAMP Ladder Challenge to paint our minis, and then we can play a game at Adepticon. Whattaya say?

Oh, I'm jealous! They said the first round shipping would take about two weeks so you were one of the early ones. I really hope my Arena Rex package shows up today. I'm down for a painting challenge and some gaming at Adepticon. I was actually thinking I might try to paint Otho in the next month or two. Although the sculpt for Lupa is really dynamic, so she'd be a fun project too.

I say we paint a full cohort of 3 models for our challenge. I gotta put you in "mass-production" mode to help level the playing field! ;-)

That's OK, though, you'll have the advantage of forcing me to paint larger-scale. It looks like these models are something like 40mm. I wasn't paying attention to the scale, when I dove into the Kickstarter. I like it, though. For a game of only 3 to 5 models, it's fitting to use larger-scale, both mechanically and aesthetically.

I may get started on assembly, but I say we wait until we both have 3 models in-hand, before we begin our challenge. I don't know when they expect to ship Septimus, but we might be looking to start our challenge in a couple of months. That will give us a chance to assemble and prime what we have, and we can hit the ground running at the starting line, when we both have 3 primed models. Watcha think?
