Shading with multiple colors - Tutorial needed?

After I\'ve seen this Champion of Tzeentch by vikotnik I think it would be nice to paint my Chameleon Skinks with a ranbowlike skin.
So anyone knows a good tutorial for this technique?

They\'ve blended through the colours of the rainbow/colour wheel.

On the staff, they have started red, then added yellow until pure, then started adding green until pure green, etc...

The highlights on the robes are done by adding the colour next to the base colour on the colour wheel and blending up.

The face looks to have used some glazes.

Mostly it\'s all about careful blending.
