Shadows of the Past

A Luna

A Lunatic
Hey all! I finally revived from the idling-grave with some news. I\'m building a new diorama!
I got the idea from the First World War and I \'sort-of\' expanded it.

A little background info:
The diorama is called \'Shadows from the Past\'. You can see on the pictures below that all shadows cast on the ground are pointing to the middle of the diorama. Ofcourse this is not possible, having all shadows point at 1 place (or 1 miniature). It indicates that the guy who\'s trying to stay standing has a storm inside his mind, he\'s feeling so much pain in his head that he almost faints.

The graves, are perhaps the ones of his victims? Hence why they point at him, he\'s feeling his unconsciousness and their spirits.

Why the 3 swordsmen? Because they are shadows of his victims taking shape. They cannot stab and kill him but they are present and they can kill his mind.

The miniatures are 1 Infinity Miniatures sniper (from some kind of race) and 3 Confrontation Cyanwall Asadar elves. Lots and lots to be done still. But I\'m going to paint the swordsmen in a ghost-ish, unnatural shape and the sniper has to become the centerpiece. He\'s blinded by all the \'light\' at him so I\'m gonna paint him very light.

I hope you like it:)
Note: All shadows are painted, I didn\'t take any pics with a lamp on.

Thanks Freak :)

I firstly painted the sand normally. I then got a lamp and made a shadow to the miniature in the middle. I washed the shadow with devlan mud, then badab black and then a drybrush of Charadon Granite. After that, a very light drybrush of all the colours surrounding (white to the closer to the center, darkers to outsides).
