Very nice, AW. I just had to replace my graphics card last week or so. The old one went kaput, a mere 18 months old and I\'ve never pushed it to its limit.

Hi Amazon warrior! Sounds like you\'re in puter heaven over there. Watch out though, as you\'re aware (well I am) this whole internet thing gets pretty addictive. I set myself up with a new latest and greatest PC a few weeks back as electronics are considerably cheaper over here in SE Asia. I was becoming a computer gaming junkie! Up till 4am in the morning playing online games etc every night after getting home from work. Anyways... I deleted all my games from my computer this morning. I had to make a choice! Time goes so quickly! No more games for me. Music and minis is where it\'s at! So many songs!
So many minis!
Time to log-out!
Hope you find some time to paint in between plugging yourself into the mainframe known as \'cyber space\'.

Painting\'s probably going to wait a little for now until I\'ve moved and resettled. I really should start packing things up a bit, or my poor Mum\'ll have 50 fits when she comes over to help me move! lol

Great place, even if just for research. When I bought my card they weren\'t quite the cheapest, but they were close; not sure but thought I couldn\'t order overseas at the time so that might have changed recently.
Is there another 4am?

i think i\'d have more fun with an amiga a500 and a load of classic games i never gave a toss how crap they looked so long as they were fun and well 8-16 bit era were the most fun games ever the more realistic they\'ve made them the less fun
but nice comp isn\'t it fun knowing you\'ve spent a load of cash on a box that will no longer be top spec in a month and still be a pain in the ass with games because of conflict errors between graphic engines and differing graphic card architechture
not to mention how many games worth playing are going to justify the need for spending all that on it in the next two years without upgrading ?? now divide the cost by that number of games
and now you have just realised a games console that has a shelf life of 5-7 years before the next gen is far more economical on a per game ratio even with the need to replace faulty ones
the only downside is you can\'t play mine sweeper on any of the consoles lol

...or that you can\'t process graphics. Or surf the internet. Or type and send an email. Or do raytracing. Or work. Let\'s face it, aside from the fact that I\'d sooner smash my fingers with a brick than choose to play games with a controller rather than a mouse and keyboard, there are many things that I can do on a computer that simply cannot be done (or cannot be done comfortably) on a console. While this is a high-powered system and I will be playing games on it, that\'s not the only thing it can do. And it will be able to do those things for a good while to come if I treat it nice.
And controversially, I would say that consoles are at least partly to blame for the deterioration of game quality. I can think of a few very fine games with multi-platform sequels that were dumbed down and restricted due to the need to appeal to and appease the console crowd. But I guess we see things differently.

Well, my copy of XP is *ahem!* a wee bit unofficial! lol To get an affordable version of W7, I needed an official OS. I figured that I\'d get Vista, grit my teeth and use it for a couple of months, then use the upgrade ticket it came with to get W7 in october. It\'s a weird feeling, being legal.... lol

I\'m glad I\'m going to be able to stick to XP and then transition to 7 when the time comes as I hate the RAM-devouring mess that is Vista with a passion, but with lots of newer hardware there just aren\'t XP drivers available are there? And generic ones just won\'t cut it obviously.

I (re)started Oblivion last night! I\'ve played it a bit before, but never completed it, mostly because of the stop-motion effects on my lappy. Fights were awful. Same with HL2. I hope to finish both of them now tho, and more! (I have Bioshock waiting in the wings...) First tho, I\'ve gotta go kill these ****ing fish....
