Actually....I once did try to invest in the real stock market.
Started with 500 bucks and bought a stock that was worth about 1.50 per share.
The stock steadily dropped, then the company went bankrupt. My money was frozen, couldn\'t get it back. Then after all that, months later they unfroze the stock, it became worth about .20 cents a share BUT there was a REVERSE SPLIT that had to take place. For every 17 shares I had, they turned it into 1!!
I eventually had a whopping 17 dollars left of my initial investment. So I asked to close the account...they charged me a 10 dollar check writing fee. I got a check for 7 BUCKS!!
I cashed it in and bought a miniature...which I still have as a reminder....

Oh I have a better one than that. Back when I was about 20 my father convinced me to buy some stock in a company called Hal Roach Studieos. They owned the Laurl and Hardy movie libraries among others. I bought in at about $2.00 a share and bought a 100 shares.. while I owned it it spril 2 for 1 twice and worked its way up to $10.00 a share. I was hot to sell and my father was like hold on..its gonna do better.. 3 months later they went bankrupt and I think it was worth .02 cents a share if that. Lost it all.
Since then I only invest in my IRA and 401K when Ive had the oppertunity. Done OK with it.
