I think at the end of the day stone was just voicing her opinion and we are all entitled to do that. And when it comes down to it from personal experiance I have found the buddhist religeon to be a harsh and unforgiving one. Many years ago at a moon festival I met some monks who told me of all the evil people who would be punished through karma including people who had abortions, now the thing I found shocking was while they where making these statements they where getting drunk and fooling around with a group of prostitutes, kind of extreme double standards in buddhism.

On What Vike Said: Kudos Vikey!

On IQ Tests: A proper IQ test should have little or nothing to do with education. Education is in no way indicative of IQ. Therefore an IQ test would not be used to qualify people for a particular school or anything similar. In theory someone with only basic reading ability should be able to do well on an IQ test if they have a high IQ. The test (proper ones anyway) are about solving abstract problems, memory, pattern finding, and similar type thingies... oh and doing these things relatively quickly. Most IQ tests on the internet are not proper IQ tests or are just really condensed versions of a proper test. All this being said a high IQ is indicative of only one thing... Having a high IQ. You can still be a complete twit, just a smart twit. The best scientists don\'t necessarily have to have a high IQ. It has been noted that great minds like Einstein and umm some other smart person have achieved their greatness more due to their rare and incredible ability to concentrate rather than on raw IQ.

When I say IQ tests were designed for school use, I don\'t mean like university. I mean like 5 year olds, to see what early school program is best for their level of cognitive development.

Most psychologists today will tell you that the only use for an IQ test among adults is to see whether or not someone is diagnosable as mentally retarded or not (70 or less).

One of the biggest problems with IQ tests is figuring out what counts as an \"average\" score. Recent decades saw a fairly universal rise in IQ in most countries (the Flynn effect) but that\'s tapered off and has supposedly evened out again. So an average IQ isn\'t 100 anymore, it\'s more like 110-115 in a lot of cases. There are ways of controlling for linguistic/regional problems, either by changing the test or changing the \"average\" score.

In any event, being 10-20 points away from the average isn\'t a big deal. Once you hit 30+ above or below average then it starts to be significant.

What about all those poor vegetables that you so heartlessly rip out of the ground and eat?:D

Seriously, I respect people that want to be vegetarians. I personally am a carnivore.

Personally I\'m an omnivore, I\'ll eat almost anything. (Tripe is not a food!)
Prefer a bit less meat these days, except when it comes to Steak.

I respect people that can eat most anything or have more diverse taste for food than I do.

Occasionally, I\'ll take my kids to the local \"all you can eat\" buffet to give them a treat. My parents will usually accompany.

While the four of them are going up for carrot cake, or ice cream, or something similar for dessert...I\'m usually heading back up for more roast beef, or turkey.
Judiciously applying potatoes and gravy to taste.lol

After having been living alone again for awhile, I finally decided I could \"splurge\" once in awhile and buy myself a steak.

The first time I did, I was talking to a friend and he congratulated me and asked what I had to go along with the steak.

I said \"steak sauce\"...
