Sheetrock sucks

I just spent twelve hours helping my father pull down plaster walls and putting sheetrock up on the ceiling. we measured the space three times, drew the lines, checked them five times and....

it wasn\'t even close when we cut it and put it up. so we\'ll be back at it again tomorrow. My back is never gonna feel better after holding those sheets up.....

Sheetrock thats the one thing that I\'ve learned, it easier and cheaper to let professionals do it. And if your crazy enough to do it yourself, rent a sheetrock lift.

Is that the stuff we call plasterboard over here? Someone mentioned it before and I had this image of some kind of Mexican hair rock gone wrong.

I did drywalling (sheetrock=drywall=gypsum board) all summer. Ceilings are tough... best thing to do is start in a corner and go down the wall the long way, putting the drywall on with one person on each end. then do the next row over but stagger the non bevelled edges or it\'ll be a bit more difficult to tape. Do you at least have some sort of scaffold or platform to stand on? I can\'t imagine doing it from a ladder...

I sheetrocked my whole garage once...it\'s not so bad once you start learning the tricks and the places you can cheat a bit....but yeah, If I had to do it again, I\'d most likely pay to have it done.
