My neighbors talked me and the wife into joining a Bowling League, and we did so for about 4 years. I don\'t think I ever improved, but my wife got pretty darn good.

The nieghbors moved away this year, so we decided to not continue. Its a fun, but frustrating activity.

I used to enjoy the occasional game.

I understand the Vasili vampire from Wyrd is a big fan though:

I did this a while back for the Something Wyrd comp. He was sort of rushed and I\'m still doing some touch-ups before posting him on CMON.

We have two bowling lanes (alleys ???) in Newcastle and they are both total dumps. The last time i went was about 3 month ago, the pin replacer grabber machine thing kept breaking so we all demanded our money back.
Bowling just hasn\'t got the demand round these parts.

Now bowls, now thats a different story! 7am at the local park with all the coffin dodgers!

You want to come and visit Eastbourne for that. Even Top Gear filmed at our local bowls club a couple of years ago.

As for proper bowling, my Dad got me into that when I was tiny. He played in a local league every Tuesday night. My best games averaged around 150 plus but it costs so much that I haven\'t played in a long, long time. I did find a bowling alley in Krakow that cost about £1 per game but that closed down :(

Yeah, I love that little guy.

Are you going to add in the lane markings and that sort of thing?
Yes. You can\'t see from this photo, but I have the wood slats defined. I\'ll have to do an overhead shot.

I haven\'t been for ages, but me and my housemates got really into a Big Lebowski inspired bowling phase when I was at university. Went a few times a week.

It was only a pound a game at the local alley (which was a nice, smoke stained, classic one rather than a flashing light filled Bowlarama style thing) if you played during the day, so we\'d go down, get pissed and have a load of goes for less than 20 quid.

I wasn\'t spectacular, with a best of 210 or there abouts, but fairly consistent. I definately had the best action though. A crazy, hyper extended leg sweep when I bowled, with my right leg hooking behind me and kicking out viciously to the left. So much so I couldn\'t play on certain lanes because of supporting pillars to the side that I would smash my foot into, and I have kicked people in the lane beside us with it a few times too!

They were happy days, but it is so expensive in the alleys around here in comparison that I don\'t go now. The last time I did on a staff outing I was complete pants too!

I used to hit the \"Rock and Bowl\" nights with some of the University Crowd. We drank and played Magic the Gathering more then bowled though.

Every year on Boxing day my family meets up for Bowling, often 5 pin.

I think my average is probably somewhere aroud 70 IRL.

Now I just bowl on my Wii. No perfect games yet :D

i think the problem with bowling in america is the fact that you cant see the pins because the entire area is FILLED with smoke. this is where the wal-mart people go when they are done shopping and want to redneck it up a bit more. on the other side some and i mean SOME bowling alleys are nice but in indiana its a bit..... hmmm well just sad.....

This is where a Wii comes in handy.

I\'m a pretty decent bowler as it is, 150-200ish most games.

But Wii Bowling is good stuff. Made pro the other night, and got my new ball. Just one of the many reasons to get yerself a Wii :)
