so far for my painting i have used GW paints and have never had a problem with them. However i decided to buy a vallejo paint or two. However after using one of them i found out that the mini had gone really shiny. Is this a feature of vallejo paints and is there anyway of getting rid of this shiny look??

What colour are you using? To get rid of the shine use a GW matt varnish or spray it with Testors Dullcoat ( best way).

some paints from any line do have a satin finish mate, unless you use very thin coats.
dullcote is your friend in this instance.

Is it Vallejo Game Color or Model Color? The Game Colors can sometimes go on a bit shiny, whereas the Model Colors are generally very matte (although there might be a few exceptions).

Did you get it from c and b? I think you and me are the only ppl who buy vallejo from them, so they might have just been sitting there. You might wanna give it a really good shake.

Trying to get a job there. They are nice people too, they just need to stock minis...

Their paint has been sitting on the shelf for a long time, so probs just needs a good shake.

Did you find the plasticard and stuff, they have a pretty good selection of hardwear once you know your way around.;
