Shipping

I\'m in Illinois and was at the local Sell It On Ebay store and was going to start unloading some GW and Armorcast stuff that I have had for a dog\'s age and just either haven\'t gotten around to painting or haven\'t used in so long that there are cobwebs on the minis and/or the boxes. They informed me that they wanted between 30-40 % of the final sale price/ comission. I figured I might try the trading post on Cool Mini instead and was wondering who would be best to ship items with; US Postal, UPS, FedEx or is there another more Uber shipper. Any help and advice would be appreciated, thankyou in advance.

That usually depends on the weight of the product, and how quickly your buyer/trader wants it.
Most companies will have a chart of some sort that\'ll let you know how much it costs to ship how much weight, and how long different delivery types take.
Most people are usually satisfied with USPS.

Yeah, regular post office is usually the way to go. If you pick up their flat rate envelope or small box (8x5x2), it\'s $4.95 for about 2 day delivery, with delivery confirmation $0.70 extra. And since that\'s flat rate, it\'ll be as much metal as you can squeeze into that box. If you hit their website (www.usps.com), and calculate the postage, they\'ve got little question marks next to each service where you can pop up the description of their boxes.

USPS is usually cheapest and easiest. As said, with their flat rate boxes and envelopes it\'s a lot cheaper than UPS or FedEx and the items get there quickly even internationally.

1. don\'t use those seller stores, they will rob you blind. Setting up an account and selling on eBay is easy. Do it yourself.

2. Shipping is easy and relatively cheap. The post office has a variety of flat rate boxes that range in cost of $4.90 to around $12.00.

You can also use your own box and ship by weight. before you list the item to eBay place it in the box you will ship it in and weigh it for your auction info. You will need to know the items shipping weight as the price will vary from place to place. Thats why the flat rate boxes are nice as if the item is heavy, its cheaper to ship to most places if it fits in the box. You can get the flat rate boxes free from your local post office.

3. don\'t be afraid to ship international as it is easy. if the item weighs less than 4 pounds you have a small little green forum to fill out. Tales less than a minute. if over 4 pounds its a larger white forum..takes 2 minutes to fill out.

You also have the alternative of figuring out a price you want for the models and selling them direct though sites like this or places like bartertown.

If you\'re shipping internationally it also helps your buyer if you fill out the customs declaration forms on your end. It\'s a bit of a hassle but it helps to avoid the ridiculous flat rate processing fee of £8.00 they have over her on items worth more than £18.00.
