The only camera i have is a digital that is a mere 2.1 mp. Should i even bother with it or just go buy a new camera?

considering that you can only post about 300-400 pix wide, I\'d say you are fine for use around CMON.

For printing out photo quality stuff, you may want more.

I cant get any of the fine details the closer i get the blurrier ir becomes.

depending on your camera, there is a minimum focus distance in regular mode and a closer distance in macro mode (usually the flower icon).

You cannot focus any closer than that. (read the manual and find out). You can use the zoom (optical, never digital) to get \"closer\" than the focus distance.

I have one camera that I can set the zoom lens on it and sit across the room and shoot nice photos, but I have to have LOTS of light. My digital will get within about a foot, but I rarely actuall get that close.

After you\'ve got as close as you can, take some good pics, then crop out the background to leave us more mini to vote on.

Couple of other things to try as well - get a decent photo program and use it to clean up your pictures - and crop them down as well - the last thing you want to do is post a 200 mg shot that 3/4 of the pic is background.
