Excellent. Now I have visual confirmation on who I need to take out when I travel back in time which will then make you the winner of cb2015 since they will be out of the picture. Or I'll just win the lotto and spread the love.

Lol diggs your crazy epic yeah he is from PB thanks canny learned a few things watching folks and talkin to a ton of people so I'm in the Midsts of now painting with a tin of contrast. Didn't think it would do well in pics but I find out its the exact opposite thanks I appreciate it. And the wrath of king models are so darn beautiful.. You all know me "units" are my thing so when I get all the wolfs done they should look fantastic with all the contrasts!View attachment 36699View attachment 36699View attachment 36699View attachment 36699View attachment 36700View attachment 36700View attachment 36701View attachment 36702

So sad your work didn't get what it deserves in CB. Yes, i was a lil biased in my votes, so glad bailey got his just reward, but i really don't think internet judging is worth the pixels its put out on. u can make work, especially nmm that looks on camera but in reality is nought to tmm. I'm also guessing i must be mega unpopular here on cmon, put up a bust for a contest, so good in reality, pics difficult, reg average mid 7's on 11 votes and i know 4 of them 9 or 10's. Pulled out, if anyone wants to see my work they'll see it in the flesh and thats where your work belongs. Nuances, camera does not see. My blending is immaculate and yet on here gets 6/7's, my realism and appreciation of desaturation in tones bypasses eveyone, wdf! mini painting here is all about slappin each others shoulders...be well buddy, you know irl you get the prize, that is where IT IS REAL, as for all you registered snipers, hot water bottles help warm the bed, and hell will be toasty

Wolf boi is looking great, BAM! I like all the little scratches you gave him. WoK looks nice, but I'll resist getting into until I get some more painting done. At the moment it is just building and assembling for me, should clean my table and get onto some new stuff soon.

Good lookin werewolf! I'm assembling and cleaning the house goritsi army myself. The wolves and vampires are Gorgeous models. The vampires weapons kind of suck though. I wish they were made out of the main material instead of styrene. Beware the phantom mold lines.

My friend ordered just the goritsi parts of the kickstarter but his post office sent the package back to cmon for some reason. So he is still waiting for his stuff. When he finally gets it I'll just trade him my stuff so he can get right to painting as a surprise. Plus I am really wanting to play :)

That is a nice wolf (nice homage to the Rackham Wolfen). He should get a spa treatment for those nasty green toe nails though! Lol. Good to see you diving back into the painting. Also thanks for pointing out the Betty Edwards book. It has been an easy and interesting read so far.

@dennis: please keep posting your neat minis to the gallery. Even if the scores do nit make sense it is very cool to be able to pull up a persons gallery and see all there work in one spot. I know i would be challenged to get across the ocean to see your cool stuff in person.

I Def agree dennis..thanks to the gang wok is Def the greatest models I've had the pleasure to paint in a long time..they are amazing..very well achieved co.I hope I'll get to see the vendors again I'll tell you I had 2 boxes in my hand one was 35.00 the other was 25.00 I was looking at a wolf box all of them had 3 models so 9 models all together and a grand total of 125.00 the gentlemen handed me the starter box that had all the models I wanted a total of 16 models and it was cheaper than all 3 so I spent 75.00 on 2 boxes and walked away with a total of 25 models....you can't beat that with abat..
@dennis hang in there I said once your one of the best artists on here and that the truth..

Nice to see you wasting no time on those wrath of kings models. Looking good!

Regarding Internet voting and CB, it doesn't matter how good your work is, if the pictures aren't good you're not going to get those top scores. I know some talented artist who never post their work because they can't get good photos. As far as CB goes, I think they did a really nice job with the photos. Every piece looked good. I feel like some of their decisions on where to make the cut were odd. In my opinion his gladiator really should have been in the running for historical single. And his nurgle squad was just as good as the orcs. The orcs medaled, but the squad didn't even make the cut. However, I think a good deal of this was due to the timing and technical issues faced by the CB team. I think they were rushed and made some decisions that might have been different had things gone smoothly. And I think a lot of the voting went the way we thought it would. Both Blood and I guessed how the overall top three would go. Some categories were a little surprising, like historical squad. I thought the barbarians would at least get silver if not gold. But that happens even without Internet voting. Sometimes the judges fixate on something and we don't agree with their choices. When you get 3 pieces that are equally as good, it can come down to personal opinion how to order 1st-3rd.

ally thank you my friend...I must agree in total with how we both figured out what was going to get what...my differences weren't for mine they were that the knightmare"model of the Holy sepulcher should've been 3rd overall it's hard to imagine that even though the "dance macabre "was fantastik it just didn't stand up to the 1st place knight...but again me and baily talked it through and it Def went down to mostly every piece we talked about...all in all most things got what they deserved and leads me to believe it's not the evil random "crap shoot" that we've heard so much about....great great competition that will be even more fair in the future years...it was the most single mom or able experience I've had in my life next to the first time I kissed my backbone and lifeforce....my janet!!! ;)

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about the knightmare guy. That was another one that deserved to make it past the first cut. Although fantasy single was a big category and a tough one too.

The important thing is all of your pieces deserved to be in that case with all those other awesome entries. Sometimes things will go your way and sometimes they won't. But, if we keep at it and hopefully get inspired by the competition, our work will continue to be in that upper group and hopefully place better and better each year. Personally, I feel like my work has improved significantly over the past two years but that progress was starting to plateau. However, after seeing those top entries in person, I came away with a list of stuff that I want to work on. I'm hoping that gives me the kick in the butt I need to eventually end up in one of those top three spots. Not sure when it might happen, but hopefully one of these days!
