Lol. Bam its super easy and no you dont need to be a engineer for this stuff. You simply follow this SBS I am about to do for you.
First you find the wings you want, I chose dragon for reasons.
attachment.php

Second you get some scissors and cut those wings off, kind of like pulling wings off flies when we were wee lads. All wee lads do this right? Then you simply glue it to your picture and BAM! Your guy is now a winged warrior of pure awesome, enjoy.

You DID ask for wings after all...

Sorry for such poor quality pics but I just wanted to show you all a new project I'm
aworking on I was so taken by the work at mfca I bought 2 nocturnal models the Lancelot and this bad ass an Athenian hoplite. And a few resin bases and model columns basically I just do all the add ins and painted and modeling on top of these things. It fits my style better as I'm not the best modeler .. So Jan's at a jewelry trunk show so I'm left with a bad cellphone a flip top no less.

Thanks so much baily this new historical spree I'm on is 1 because davie (you) make some very attractive models really the main reason after the idea of that unit last crystal brush. And secondly going to the mfca I had no idea there was such a passion for historical most were done by very elderly war veterans and man could they paint but again the main reason was because of you david after seeing the Viking raider the knight was great hands down and was my third pick overall but that viking raider with the Lil bowl of porridge the broken chair the column and the wine glass mare one of the most impressive pieces I've seen in miniature painting period...I'm really starting to dig the historical...thanks david again for breathing life into an unknown desire for historical models.

I'm going to venture into historic when I get a new job. I hardly seem to paint anything for myself these days. I just seem to be getting commission after commission at the moment, I cant complain as its good cash

I think the color of the shield is to red and not yellow enough it makes the red eyes and mouth looks funny. The dude looks amazing.

Voted on the berserker bust. I think it is some of your best work so far! Your just cranking out awesome stuff left and right. I really like the shield a lot too. Excellent work sir!

I would like to know about those bases as well if you don't mind.

Okay so the bases are from a Lil old man Armand p bayardi -model maker. Yeah as far as the shield I definitely did not like the yellow shield so went with a bronze shield with verdigris . Same as his armor I just don't have my girl right now for good pics so I can see as I said the pics look really bad. I'm awaiting better ones. Thanks to all guys and remember if your on putty and paint as well as cmon I'm damn straight asking for votes after all what is 23 comments when my last piece got 140 votes I mean you guys aren't my whole scoring but your def there to help me pummel past the envious folks who give 1s . So please vote thanks guys .

BAM, I'm glad you're digging the historical figures. There are so many beautiful historical sculpts out there, it seems like a shame to ignore them all. In my opinion the best pieces are the ones that are well painted but also tell an interesting story. You can use historical pieces just as easily as fantasy and sci-fi to tell a good story. Most of us have at least a passing knowledge of major historical eras, so you can definitely tap into that with the pieces. Plus the medieval and ancients have all sorts of color variation, so even if you're trying to be historically accurate there is still a great deal of freedom in how you tackle the piece.

You can also dip into mythology and legend to create some neat pieces that walk the line between history and fantasy. Your latest piece could be advancing on another hoplite or going to fight a centaur, gorgon or any number of mythological creatures. Speaking of which, did you see this piece from Alexandros Models? It's an 80mm figure of Hercules and Cerberus. It's a bit bigger than the hoplite (and more expensive), but it seems like something you would have a blast with. It's definitely up there on my wish list.

Epic, nice! Glad you want to give them a try. If you want some recommendations on companies with nice historical options just let me know.
