I went the cowards way out and picked models with belly you know that part of the book that states"the amount of gradiant increase is directly proportionate to the degree of the slope" so the part that further embellished on this is aND says torso to belly and belly to sides have two curves going on a gentle curve top to bottom not crazy shading and the belly to sides big slope =much shading and this helped me with the belly area which I've always struggled wit.another thing that helped was clarifying that the base color = midtone and this = AREAS OF LARGE WITH THE TORSO AND TOP OF LEGS ETC.-THIS BEING AN INTERMEDIATE COLOR WHICH I address after the main shading and some first stage highlighting. This helped me clear up not using just a single type of shading blended in.but more tonal variation.anyways this helped me out.nout . now after all the global shading is done and highlighting to some degree it's a matter of picking out each bulge and adressing it as a geometric shape.what colors it gets depends upon the rules above of which part gets the midtone and stop sign rule tactic.it's really a matter of thinking the way he does and adopting that in your routine the more you reread it and then paint reinforces what's going on.
