Don't know the mini, but he looks suitably fearsome. I especially like the freehand along the bottom of the cloak.

Yet another gorgeous job. You keep showing us these magnificent, almost completed minis. Any chance of posting a step by step some time? I'd love to see your process.

I know, this competition painting can be a pain!

Great job on the freehand design on the cape. I really like what you did. Hope we see more stuff like that from you!

I agree with the rest, great freehand there! I also like the blues greens that show on the armour brightest places. Face is great too!

Okay, so there's just four weeks (and 7 hrs) until the Crystal Brush entries are due. I thought this was a good time to check in and remind myself what you're entering. I know you've got the pirate for historical single, the vikings for historical unit, the bloodreavers for fantasy unit, and the sorcerer for fantasy single. What have I forgotten? There are 13 categories, 12 of which you are eligible for (sorry, no Young Talent for you... I hate to say it, but you don't look 14 or younger). I'm sure you've got something for large scale and maybe some entries for sci-fi too? Which ones still need the finishing touches?

I'm sad to say my entry list is pretty short. I've got the samurai for large scale and the northumbrian for historical single (both almost done, but not quite there). It's possible I'll have the dwarf pirate for fantasy single... but considering all the work left to do on my other two pieces (and the prep I've got for the painting classes), I'm starting to think I won't be able to finish that third piece in time. No worries, there are plenty of other shows I can bring him to. I was looking for an excuse to check out KingdomCon down in San Diego, so I can always just take him there.

Okay be the berserker bust will be in large model...def no threat at all to the pirate...:( sad but true...ill have a set of 5 Orkney freebooters for sci finite added tons of things to these making it more formidable along with a really nice display block so that rounds out my entries...last year I had 7 this year 6 .. And just to remind you your entries last year were of gold caliber and these 2 are as well but I think that you'll have a real smoothe time getting 4/5 judges voting the samarai for a check winner...I'm predicting the second overall placing to go to the Samarai... ;) easily....the sepulcher knight was amazing last year ,and I really do feel the Samarai trumps that beyond debate....ide def feel confident with both of them repeating the impressive placing that you achieved this prior year.
