Have you had the wrist cast or immobilised to assist in the healing process? Please look after yourself - you don't want it healing badly and hindering your painting and life later on. *fuss fuss* *mothering from a distance - I do this to friends*

Thanks guys and gals. At nosebleeds- I'm using for the metal a copper from reaper called "scorched metal". Then agrax earthshade to shade. From there I add into the edges nakhala oxide. (Verdigris) any type of mint green you could use. I even have my own mix ill use when I'm out if the oxide , I use mint green and hawk torquoise . Then I highlight with Mitchell silver and scorch brown mix. Then very high highlights I use valleo pure silver which is the brightest I've seen. That is until I saw reapers newest line of paints and their silver is brighter than tha haven't tried it yet though. But that's really my routine for this metal. Here are some examples , and obviously I add very thin tiny scratches., pigments blood for blood god!!!View attachment 48060View attachment 48061View attachment 48062View attachment 48060

I know you use a bit of a grad earth shade in your shades, but this is like a wash, how many coats do you apply to get it so dark or do you add something else for the shade, for example, under the arm ?

Such great little models you did them justice with a fantastic paint job. Love the details like the dirty pants and the skin looks on point son! Makes me want to go pick up a box and paint a few myself.

Wowzers woke up this morning and saw a bunch of wonderful comments.....I almost fell over when I saw Andy Gs I mean this guys is fantastic really gifted and to get a comment like this is huge.im ecstatic...thanks so much Andy...;)...
FLUNKuTRON thank you soooo soooo much my matey ,so so much your the goods.;)
@GANDALF- what I do Gandalf is 1) for the first shade ill my 50 / 50 of my base color and a darker blue let's say....then I'll blend that in ...secondly I'll keep adding more and more of that dark blue until just underneath the arm is that dark blue on its own.(that's how I get that deep rich dark color under the arm...(use a black blue color, any will do) then I'll do the highlights up until a bit of white(the high contrast of the white highlights is what makes the dark under the arm appear dark.then I glaze blue glaze by GW over the whole thing....ITS AT THIS POINT ILL GO IN AND GLAZE IN THE SHADOWS AGRAX EARTH SHADE...

NOW IF you're like to know how I use a grad earth shade on other models ....well I do three washes right from the bottle (wait until each dries) that's how you apply GW washes ,right from the bottle in three diff coats.this really intensifies the opacity -WATCH THE GW TUTORIALS WARHAMMER TV ...ITS WHERE I GOT THE TECHNIQUE!!!
if still not clear pm me and I'll find out how to teach you buddy.

Nothing really beats having my models published in GW books and placing in high profile painting comps... But the only thing I can think of better than that feeling of euphoria is having another great miniature painting fantasy artist like you GANDALF is answering a question that turns on that "A-HA" lightbulb in the minds eye where one gets the idea they've been searching for and could never get a str8 answer to!!!

SO NOW YOU KNOW BUDDY!!!
