You guessed it my models always start out with the shading and highlighting as near as possible.after a somewhat adequate technique it’s after after all this that the fun will start. I believe two posts above I used the words- archaic and beaten!!! You know after all my name is BLOOD(dirt, Grime, cracks , chips ) asMEDIUM!!! I will certainly leave my calling card in these very dead bonies!!!!;)

Now with the moss coloring!!!

I begin now with washes after all the bones were picked out - inching the tarsals, metacarpals, phalanges all the seismic bones in the wrist etc etc.they have ,at this point been given a general glaze of my secret weapon for discolored moss ridden bones- antagonism canoshade. If you do not have it than add some brown to green and you’ll get this color.View attachment 62683

I hate that bloody antagonism canoshade, always getting on peoples’ nerves!

The spelulchral guard are looking good so far. Always nice to see your weathering approach as it develops on a mini

Here’s another detail I don’t think I’ve shared yet. I’m not the greatest freehand artist. Even if I was much better imho it’s MUCH safer to stay away from pics , and freehand illustration- why do I feel this way. Because 10,000 dollars in a cash prize brings out a plethora of amazing box artists who basically set a standard. My freehand has evolved more into things I feel I am much more comfortable competing with. Freehand for me is in the form of detail work, iconography and things like weathering , chips, cuts ,blood/gore , veinwork etc. I through a glaze over these spider veins once dry you’ll see what I’ve done View attachment 62689View attachment 62690

I’m folks here are some progress shots of the vampire with some spider veins in his ear membranes. Also bailed and I both agree the greats cut into the red mix worked out perfect as the red dark stained blood and dirt show up perfectly against the grey/red cloak color.and where at the shading phase of those pesky skelles!!! Here take a gander!!!

Damn, where to start??? Those skeletons look awesome....you and Zab have moved them to my wish list.

The veins in the ear are awesome and the weathering (knicks and blood) on the armor scream signature BAM. I LOVE IT ALL!!!

Keep after it my friend.
