I’m at so all morning has been adding more shit to the bases( jarhead stayed in his class- « when comes to detail work there should be small, medium and large types on all bases) eg let’s say I do a base with a tire in a trench and it’s in front of a building that is reduced to rubble1) large basing jewels bricks thrown about3) take a knife and break and scrape to show bricks that aren’t all perfect IOW smaller uneven bricks thrown about3) SMALL details would be pulverizing the jeweela bricks into small bits of grain add some of this small detail in the tire, on the window sills and on the larger bricks. These are your 3 types of detail. I will use this notion more and more on future bases as well. It’s realistic detail and really gives the scene a sense of reality!!!;) for now until I reach that here’s some sketching in on the body- John Doe lolololView attachment 64788

Oww nice tip on the basing. You can often pic up tiny bits of information on all things mini related. I will remember that Small - Med - Large details. Lovely details and much better contrast on the chap on the base! :D

Helllooool outthere in tv land-honeymooners ;) in a moment I’ll be posting some terrible pictures of the small medium large detail work. The large is a range of things as the small/medium are as well. So the big rocks and deadfall trunks also the dead clumped folliage as well as the body of the poor bastard who somehow lost not only some of his body parts but gained suffering as he’s slowly consumed in the “GARDEN OF EDEN” The medium are the larger skulls, some of the larger stones the rusted gates(not finished yet). The small are the smaller skulls, the smallest stones and the mold, Moss even the tiny cracks on the skulls can be considered small detail work. however this really applies to the base work. To show the visual difference I picked out the medium and small details in beige (bright) so all can see this example that I’ve applied here. Hang tight just waiting on things to dry.

The bases really reinforce the story you're telling. This is an outstanding addition to your portfolio - very inspiring.

These look great. I love the bases. You could put these with some of your previous work and call it Blood & Guts.
