OMG papa DR where've you been meph is cracking us up ! I mean he is off the wall bonkers man.. He's def the funniest character on cmon he's a stuff kick in the nads. His descriptive writing a cleverness with words is just like yours mike only I can't stop laughing at what comes off his keyboard. He is 100% a maniac!!! Where trying to do a road trip and just keep showing up at folks houses then we take they person and onto the next .. Mike your number 3 after Denny where working our way up the map lol.

Mind you, it's not always shits 'n giggles though. Last few days at the office it's taking every last reserve of my not inconsiderable patience to try and get things done by other departments, quite often international, and I find myself repeating an almost subconscious mantra of: face-palm, often combined with a desperate sigh transmuted in a controlled deep breath, followed by a conscious effort not to touch a phone or keyboard for a minute or two so my unfiltered wrath is not sent out in the world. Anger is like shooting yourself in the foot, whilst cool, filtered sarcasm poured in corporate political lingo is often the only way to get things done. The corporate environment, in general, does not appreciate the often hard, but constructive honest commucication that was absolutely vital to get anything done in graphic and 3D Design. (Between designers that is, designer-client lingo is a whole other bag of hot air). The corporate environment thrives on insubstantial communication, procrastination, plausible deniability, shadow-politics, and anti-productive compartimentalisation.

The Office, Dilbert, the cliché of petty-minded bankers hardcoded with ostrich poilitics flueled by smallmindedness and incompetence... All gross understatements, I assure you...

CMON helps to keep me sane, it does.

Alrighty, back to work. Hey-ho, hey-ho...

That gorilla is a nice change of pace for you.@Meph: you nailed corporate culture. I am an engineer with a farm background, so i like to cut through the bs to get stuff done. Worked well early in my career, but not so much as i move up the management food chain and have to interact with the politics of the corpate team. Grrrrr....thank goodness for cmon!

Ha! Try a government bureaucracy on for size. Imagine a culture similar to your own, except there is no quality control. You can't just fire someone for messing up. Even a pattern of messing up royally, over time, is difficult to police. There have been many, many days where I have literally done nothing at work. Without incentive to improve yourself or your organization, and without punishment for making the organization worse, you have the modern US federal government. I could go on about this forever but this is neither the time or place.

Yeah, a mate of mine went to work for a ministery a few years ago. He said he went nuts after a few weeks because every week by Tuesday noon he had nothing more to do for the rest of the week. He said his only way to survive was to re-educate himself to work 5 times slower so he had something to do throughout the week... Here in Belgium they are sloooowly working towards removing some of the 'untouchablility' of functionaries, coupled with quality control because currently the 'fucntionary' is not top heavy, it's a giant gyrostabilized cube standing on one corner.

Anywhooo... That's on gorilla I don't want to se see knuckling towards me at high speed. I'd lose my shit and instantly forget everything Gorilla's In The Mist thought us
