i don't know diddly about 40k, does this guy float? Seems to have cut his lip gonna pic his nose, shoulda took of the mittens. Hardcore ugly, paints workin a treat
Yes correct Denny he comes with a jet pack that ill be finishing up tomorrow or so then on to something clever with the base. He will be another comfort mini.(comfort minis I define as , those models we know we can paint up well- things were comfortable in my case (rustd armor, orks). We all have then. Your comfort minis Dennis are everything and anything. Me in the other hand I'm kinda limited. not complaining though. But I will say in addition I am going to Avenel hobbies tomorrow. A train , model , hobby store with everything from all valleo model/air colors to MIG pigments to brass etched add ins and 1:72 scenic pipes cannons barrels , resin historical models just bout anything and everything. WOOOO HOOOOO!!!
Jammy sod, we've a few modellers nooks n things, a gw, but anything cool has to on the web. Gonna have a blast with some tamiya snow, try sticking with matt medium, d'ya think that'll do or should i get that fix stuff u use?
Try to invest in that pigment fixer the reason I use that Denny is how I apply it. Most people brush it on dry and the dab the sealant to fix over it. I actually take a brush head worth of dry pigment and drop it in a well than I take the same brush and slurp up some fixer by dipping it in the fixer bottle. Then I mix the two mediums together (fixer/pigment powder) now I have a paste. I then wash the brush fix a point and take up very little on the last 1/4 (with the paste)of the brush . Then I apply in crevises(random) and in patches(random as well). Now REMEBER what I do is wait for it to dry. Then you could go further by adding some hawk torquoise (added the same random way , in certain crevises , and in random patches. After all this is dry I use 1-2 coats of Lahmian medium mixed with agrax earthshade in the form of a glaze. And then viola. There is my entire secret weathering trick.
Now for the snow I use first valleo foam snow in patches. It ends up looking like lumps of Pva glue then I sprinkle in woodland scenics powdered snow . This settles on the top if the masses of valleo snow lumps. When dry it looks like mounds of crystal snow like on my space wolf. I also use watered PVA glue to paint on thin patches as well to join the gaps b/n the thick foam snow masses.
Cheers mate, will go the whole hog and get the fixer, pretty much don't wanna be experimenting on the dragon, ty for tips revealed metal's lookin' sweet, really couldnt stay at this hobby if there was NO metal, but plastic dragon is a Godsend, got that carpal tunnel mebobs, dont wanna be shootin' stars at me brain
That's my thoughts e??????xactly please do not go the route of experimenting on the DE dragon as I feel that's going to be a high 9 average and one of the best pieces I've seen through your talented hands. The dragon is a pure award winning potential golden demon contender project. Ide rather not see that get used for experimentation and I'm sure you feel the same. Experiment on something else preferabley a model missing arms or one that Sammies chewed up.
View attachment 31182Here's the base I've chosen. Again I'm more of a painter above a modellers/painter. But I'm getting better taking tricks from BFOK , Dennis, Demi, meph, and sionid. Above all of these brave and wonderfully talented men I really choose the modelling of BFOK. And Dennis. As I love their styles for modelling the best. But again on this mini I've chose a base that's already sculpted and one that I can paint and add too as it fits my style as a miniature painter the best. Stay tuned folks I can assure you it will be excellently presented for all enjoyment.
I like it how the model seems very bland at boring at first sight, but your eye gets drawn in very fast and youi start noticing all the little colour variations and details. Good stuff, good stuff...
Thank you all demi he comes with that backpack . You know me I'm not that model savvy . USE FL TIP WHEN GLUING HEADS METAL PARTS TOGETHER. MY FIANCEE IS A JEWELER AND I HAD MANY PROBLEMS GLUING THE HEAVY BACK PACK ON.SHE ADVISED ME TO MAKE LIL SCORE MARKS IN THE FEMALE PART. SHE CLAIMED MORE SURFACE AREA GIVES A STRONGER BOND. WELL.KEEP IT IS ON SUPER TIGHT NOW. THANK YOU BABY NOW WONDER YOUR THE LOVE OF MY LIFE.
Thanks meph. I realized that effect is exactly what I noticed from afar I'm like we'll 2 colors max and then I start to notice all the rust etc. I m so glad you like it m8. Always a thumbs up from you always makes my day. Thank you all you guys.
