Here's what this morning brought me too, adding decals( everybody knows I'm crazy for decals) on the tabard. Btw FYI when I apply decals I use something called microsol -it is 1brushed on the surface that decals will be placed and 2, it is then brushed over the decal itself as it sits where it was placed. What it does-it softens the decal in such a way that it will contour and hug tightly against uneven surfaces.eg the tabard has creases and folds- with the micro solution -it will contour to each fold making the decal match the creases and folds of the tabard. Iow it makes the decal adopt the surface shape it's being adhered too!!!View attachment 34137View attachment 34137

Now we've picked out the jewels the gun and glazed down the whole model with 2glazes each dry before the next and it's now a deeper red as I e used ball red with yellow glazes. Rem glazes are not washes not are they washed on they are painted on like painting a layer or a shade only the whole model gets it and now the shades and highlights merge together because the red/yellow glaze is shared by both the HL and shade . Tying the gradation together if you will. This used with blending hides any harsh gradients left behind.View attachment 34150View attachment 34151View attachment 34152View attachment 34153

Any questions ill be glad to help you guys out.

I'm doing this model above as a tactile squad of 10. As I mentioned before I paint to always have the models ready for a contest. That's the standard I shoot for. My best chances are in the squad and units categories why well Ill tell you there are thousands literally of better painters technically. But I have the both time and patience to paint consistently high standard models over many as a group. If I can keep the consistancy (usually I do) then the models overall have cohesion not one out of place. That's what I consider to use to awe strike the Judges. If any body looked through my gallery you'll see some of my highest scoring work is a group of models.thats the mindset when I paint if any body cares about my thinking when painting and competing. Enjoy!!!

This is more along the lines of what the model looks like in person!!! Ill never take edging of highlights to white unless white in in the tone of what I'm using black etc. subtlety is what I aim for . And that more of a preference thing . However on the too highlights of the highest peak of highlights eg the face mask at the top point of zenithal highlighting I might add a Lil bleached Bone to aberlander sunset but that's the farthest ill go. Here is a pic of above still taken with a cellphone but more pronounced effects if the aberland sunset used as the highest highlight color.

Eat your hearts out from your chest "red thirst"

One 95% almost fully completed blood angel test model for a possible golden demon or crystal brush entry. Hopefully golden demon will come back to the states as a trip to England or what I've looked at is not just a wallet breaker but impossible to do at this point. And I'm pretty upset over that. Anyways having 3 dogs is not making much possible. But hey at least by the time I get to go to the next golden demin in my lifetime my skills should be more than brushed up (pun intended( lol)

That SM is looking pretty ace. I like what you have going on with the sword and the blends on the helmet look great.

And hey, you're not the only one that had a chibi disaster. I had quite the big one today, dreading how I have to fix it.
