2 updates to butter my ego a bit I'm currently ranked 108 on putty and paint with a si,ver and going into the 2014 cmon annual I have 50 miniatures that are going in and Ill happen forward all 50 of them I don't know how many pages I'll have but that's worth noting no??? And to further fan the flames I've been contacted by white dwarf again to be published with a multi page article.....mmmmm I'm sure there's many people out there and you all know who you are that 1) will never get off your high horse to admit my level of painting is grand and 2) god don't like ugly so deal with it... :/ teronus bud just like I've done here mate don't be afraid to voice your opinion I'm with you all the way... you know what I'm talking to bud.
So it's good with captain gold finger, 1, 2 ,3 sold! to BAM for a big hug. Alrighty then you chose the mini you want to do for me then.

Here's where we stopped and thanks for all the comments and help guys. Ter foldfinerbis perfect and yes I'll do a nice one for you. And ya just need to tell me what chapter and or chaos whatever bud.guys when you 2bb it's a matter of back and fourth thinning out the edges I don't know anyone who can get it perfectly even and in the first try except We7 he doesn't use an airbrush and gets better results than anyone I know that does. But keep your practicing and as human beings we learn and excell when practicing things like this! Gnight folks and staaay tuuuuned !

Honestly if I weren't a trophy buff aand people didn't rate work like today's with huge contrast differences that mini is what Ide prefer to paint like that chaos marine is one of the most beautifully painted models I've seen in years...that's the best style subtle ,shsrp,striking a crisp.. it's a shame that I even anybody that wants to compete and win has to change to the big contrast differential because IMHO that marine you did jocelyn is nothing short of perfectly and amazingly painted I love that style and that's not going to change.to me that is mini paintjng.the only reason I chose to move away from that is because judges nowadays ,the firkin mentalist they are want to see shadows down to black and highlights up to white.in m h o that chaos loRd is the better painted model..what we grew up with and you'll notice jocelyn in my personal collection your style is what I prefer.it's just hands down much more attractive and honestly I don't care who's reading this jocelyn old school style is way better than all the hype stuff I see today..my opinion and I'm allowed it and I further will standby it till I'm dead...you don't see white dwarf artists of eavy metal do anything more and it's gorgeous work every month.nice joc nice job

It's too bad that most of the guys are scattered everywhere, I know where Chris Borer is but the others? I know I was in the twilight zone for so many years, I guess it's everybody's turn some where in life.
We got to stick together the north Americans
Yeah that's why you know I am hurt every time ppl don't judge my old stuff for what it is, I got really pissed afterwards and told myself well that's not what you want to see I will show you something else then. My chaos dragon let say I would of put it on this site when it started, what do you think today it would have the most votes probably! If I put it now ppl going to hurt me to much I don't care this era is dead anyway I want to be just me now, I will show you some contrasts. And still sharp. I just don't care, when i left it was a hobby and it was fun now it's a freaking circus but serious, to serious.

yeah the whole competitive thing is way out of control I meaN even the way I act with it my fiance will tell you it's really true so many good artists they need to find ab way to spread the notoriety because the truth is first placears aND sword holders are way amazing but then it's to pic 2nd and 3rd from 20 or so models that are all eQual and up to pay that's when they should say oh he has 40 trophies but this guy equally good has 6 so maybe this year he deserves it..but then again then that's not the competitive spirit we all know and love..for me yeah Ide love to win but that feeling of uneasiness of oh their looking at mine and then they look somewhere else then oh wait their coming back now their sizing both up maybe just maybe......wow that whOle process is what I love the fact that one might not that one will...love the butterflies....like a first date or rollercoaster....man ya just cannot match that feeling...that's competeting...lol

Been trying highlighting by glazing up to white. I tried I got it but took it off quick as the contrast was wayy off it started looking like a cartoon and that's something I personally am not a fan of I'm always trying to simulate realism as if the minis alive I prefer this over a stark contrast of comic style painting . This obviously is just preference. Once a mini goes that way it's really my taste of not digging it. So many diff styles and I've seen some beautiful cartoon style models perfectly painted but even as a Little boy I preferred John blanched style over let's say LAN studios .. Again just a preference more than anything else. We all have visions in our mind and while the cartoon style is the leader in mini style paintings often winning shows and placing I'm just not a fan of it. My opinion nothing more. I tried canny I really did I threw out 1arm and 2chests and helmets trying it and ugh didn't want that!! Lol

Totally hear you guys, Teronus I love the colour choice of your chaos dude chrisp and clean. Weather its high contrast realistic or cartoony if your colour selection is off you an't going anywhere.
I agree with you also Bam Your style is not cartoony and hard white highlights are not going to do it for ya. I get stuck inbetween styles and a mix of cartoony and realistic. I have to try quite hard to do one or the other. Nice battle damage too mate always need something to mix it up.
a tooth brush and acetone should clean up those shoulders for a repaint sometime Or just keep em for some base of awesomeness.

OHHH yeah canny he's so damn good look in this painying society you have thousands maybe even 10s of thousands if artist that are top knotch and in every scheme there are the cream of any crop you know for us there are painters then there are the Leonardo davincis maciek(flame on) is def one of those.
Gee wiz what a day... Right from the start at 7 am I had to jump on 75 breakfast sandwiches then I had to start on my lunch meal and the zillions of responsibilities and complicated menus and orders and this and that, I am so happy to be at last sit my ass since 5:00 am and enjoy my hobby a bit.

Anyway the real thing I want to say is I love anything that is clean and still miniature painting, I am an old school guy in a new school era and me too I am creating my new style as we speak, Jocelyn Goyette version 2.0
