You all knew it was going to happen back to crystal brush what I call my insurance policy View attachment 34415 I will be painting this as insurance in case cedric does not make the category guidelines it's on to a model baily don't have wheeew the pegaso 54 mm gladiator with scissors yes it metal youp .. Follow me as I try to emulate this russel crow wannabe.. I simply live the scissor weapon it's 14 inches and not only acts as a bludgeon and an edged weapon but is basically an arm shield ... Need I say more!! Great weapon great mini great model to show off my skills with!! Stay tuned guys as I wait for him to dry and will put the blood angels in the back burner ... For now muuaaaawwhahaha!!

Canny can you believe that weapon I mean nets tridents gladius sword buckles and then you have the scissor I mean iron firkin clad...how do you lose...look at a few pages back baily sent me images of gladiators that were on display in California the helmet is a dead ringer..that is one bad mutha effer...I love that weapon...

I'm excited to see what you do with this guy. He's got a cool look, almost seems fantasy until you see the pictures and realize a lot of what he's wearing is based on real artifacts. Not a lot is known about the scissor type of gladiator, but the helmet is the same as what a secutor wore and they often fought the retiarius. The smooth helmet meant the net wouldn't catch as easily. So if you want to add any extras to the base a broken trident or dropped/torn net would make historical sense. That dagger on the ground would also have belonged to the retiarius, his weapon of last resort.

Yes signature armor and effects I'm going to go wild tonight and before anyone asks I borrowed baily pale skin recipe...ok ok shoot me.I'm not stupid I know a master craftsmen when I see one..stay tunes folks.

he looks victorious, for some reason I think of the guy beheading Persian generals in 300. although the short sword is accurate I don't like it...subjective, it just sits awkward

Damn! Go John you can do it bro, nice a lot of metal, you going to do a fantastic job with your awesome metals and skins, not to mention the gore.

Sorry bout the bad cell pics guys ill have proper ones as I get a Lil more done. Thanks guys and Denny that's exactly who I thought of too that fat executioner dude beheading Persians that failed xerxees. Lol he had no arms just scissor thingies. Stay tuned folks.

I like your thumb, it is in focus on all those picture. I like the sculpt better tho, but it is not.

Good work on the chainmail so far, it's not an easy part to do well. And nice dark colors and atmosphere

Wow thanks guys I didn't expect all that yeah avelorn thanks just noticed and here I thought I cleaned up .. I have an easy way of dealing with mould lines 1)cover them up (dirt grime etc) 2)I put a pool of gloss varnish wait until it hardens abit and than brush it on viola even Stevens.

eh crackle medium as in dry earth on a mahogany plinth I say it all the time fluisterwould my man if I'm going to win it's going to be because of the technical wow and not my base skills.
