I'll definitely be in touch at Adepticon. Those are some amazing Orks, and typical BAM post, we see pretty pictures and learn new things. I never thought about glazing green skin with pink and white, but I will certainly try it out on my next Ork.

I've just been over all your ork WIP entries, a great help and inspiration, thanks. To save me from boring myself with only blood angels and genestealers, I've got a Savage Orc Champion waiting in the wings.

BAMs work is amazing and he is got to be one of the most helpful chaps around. he has a very unqiue style to his painting which produces very colourful and balanced minis with a lot of personality

Nice! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with those two Pegaso figures. If they turn out anything like the other one, I think there's a very good chance you'll be walking away with a gold in the historical unit category.

By the way, I poked onto the Crystal Brush site today and saw that they've finally updated the sponsor's categories page. Looks like they're doing things a little differently this year. I believe last year the sponsor's categories had a 1st, 2nd, 3rd trophy (like the standard categories). This year it appears they're only handing out a trophy for first but also including some special prizes. That's store credit for the CMON ones (Dark Age and Wrath of Kings) and most likely figures for Pegaso and Wyrd. Here's what they had to say about the Pegaso one...

"Best Pegaso Model: All models from any of Pegaso’s range, in any scale, are eligible for this award. Pegaso will select one top winner who will receive, in addition to a Crystal Brush trophy, a special trophy and award from Pegaso. Depending on the number of entries, Pegaso may select a second and a third place winner as well, who will receive model kits."

I don't believe there were any Pegaso figures entered last year (at least none that I noticed), but between the two of us there should be at least 5.

I'm holding off on the 54mm model I was going to enter this year for next year, instead I'm going to finish the English Hussar which is from Pegaso, so there's at least 6 now.

not baily

Oh, I don't know about that. She has the potential to get gold in any category she enters. I was just searching to see if I could find any WIP shots of her project. I couldn't find any, but did see that she posted on facebook that the Pegaso piece is her most ambitious project to date. Sounds like it's going to be some tough competition! It's a good example of why you should never go to a competition expecting to win. You don't know who else is going to show up, what they're going to bring, or how the judges will react. Nothing wrong with hoping you'll win, but I try to keep my expectations down. Much better to be surprised that you won rather than disappointed that you didn't (or worse yet, win bronze or silver and still be disappointed that it wasn't gold).

Anyway, I'm glad there will be a good number of Pegaso entries. I like that a primarily historical figure producer like Pegaso (though they have some fantasy) is getting involved with the Crystal Brush. The more entries they get the more likely it is they will continue to be involved in the future. And fluisterwoud, I'd forgotten that you were working on the hussar. Good to hear you'll be entering that too!

I really like baily03s work it's a beautiful combination of warm and cool tone variation and his blending is as good as any of the top 3 painters in the world he's Def my second favorite artist only ahead of him in my opinion is Darren lathem...but I'll say it again there are great painters all over the world and if I had a choice of adopting a style and results like any artist in the world it would be baily I honestly feel in my book he's in my top two favorite painters in the world and as far as historical models he and he alone is my favorite and second favorite of historical models is Oliver spaith (honorguard) so I believe strongly and firmly he will take home 2-3 trophies and 1 of them being and gold or silver crystal brushes for the pegaso category...
