I know you pour your heart and soul into this hobby and you have reaped the rewards I can only see you getting better and better. Such is life with the teacher, I enjoyed her class and I did read her blog and for some reason I actually thoght of you!

Im sure all appreciate the input in our threads. You are a great help here mate :)

Bases have changed up a notch, looking great!

Thoughts are with you with the meds, its amazing the comrades we have here.

I went back pretty far in her FB just because I thought it was her, but I didn't find the offending remarks. Let me just say that different people paint for different purposes. If what drives you is the competitive aspect, then so be it, no reason to be all "You'll never guess what one of my inferior students said" about it.

BTW- When I read her page I had to keep myself from starting quite a few debates. Those that know me would probably agree that I am about as Conservative politically as one can be. Well, she puts up a sculpt of a bare breasted bust and talks about how the sculpt would be great if it weren't for the nudity, and then she asked aloud why there wasn't more male busts of a similar fashion. Well, I don't think I need to start a study to find that most mini painters are male, #1, and secondarily, even if this were a 50/50 male/female hobby, it can generally be surmised that the female form has many more admirers, from both genders. So to answer her question, there aren't more genital bearing men because it doesn't make financial sense from a marketing standpoint. Oh, and busts are from the waist up. Jejejeje

Yeah I gotta find it exactly but how you said it was how I felt it was implied and I totally agree bout the female form. Michaelangelos David is plenty form for anybody to want. But a Venus of willendorf seems to be even a more popular art in art classes even though wonderful large boned folks are considered wonderful . I really like that green eye bud. Even though it is kinda blurry it really looks like you its a real glass lense.

Yeah, I didn't care for her response to Blood's post. I don't see anything wrong with going to a competition because you'd like to win (seriously, almost everyone is entering because they'd like to win). I just say don't go expecting to win. You can't control who else shows up or what the judges will think, so that is just setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration. I can understand that she goes in large part to drum up business. But again, that's tied to winning. Saying your a multi-Crystal Brush winner (or Golden Demon winner) is very helpful in getting more business.

As for the busts, I'm not sure which one she's talking about but, while I've got no problem with nudity (preferably of the female sort), I've seen a fair share of figures and busts where I felt it wasn't really necessary. I guess I prefer it to have some sort of aesthetic/artist reasoning rather than just 'look! boobies!' As for the male bust comment, I'd say there are tons of male figures and busts where the subject is super muscular. The ones that come to the top of my head are some 300 style busts.

thanks krule and thanks much baily it really wasn't any problem I had as per se the problem that upset me although she didn't mention my name she public ally stated this on her page and said it was a "SAD" PERFECT I'VE AND THEN ALL HER MINIS JOHN ED IN AND THEY SAID YEAH THAT DUDES SAD....NOW THAT TO ME IS DR OPPO G THE GUANTLET....REALLY NOW...YOU READING WHAT YOU SO AND YOU PAY WHAT YOU OWE.THANK GUYS ...GOLDEN
