I really like the shark mini. As for the box art I would copy what I liked and change what I didn't. Most of us do that to a certain extent. The real masters are the ones who come up with something original..... Now that's the hard part of fantasy painting !

Wow this is really one of the best issues I've gotten feedback on...well I agree and disagree on several points but what I can stand by is "I love that color scheme he's gotten on this...absolutely love it ...so while Ide love to explore my own scheme etc which Im 100% percent confident I can do with ease,..I still stand behind how I love this guy what he's done...the box art sells the model..he's sold me on that.:)))) way to go whomever you are who did it....your the best dude...thumbs up.

I remember Street Sharks haha, that made me smile. Also Biker Mice From Mars....haha needless to say this mini does look amazing and however you paint it I know your going to floor a lot of faces with it. So get cracking bud.

Ditto what Bailey said. That is pretty off the wall figure. I could see it going a lot of different ways. I really like the box art on this particular mini because it leaves a lot of room to do other things. Sometimes when the box art is so good I think why bother.

the box art is ace i think, perhaps the back not that much but front looks sooo cool. if i ever get the mini (wouldnt bet on it... ) and actually paint it (know its.... big!) im going to do something completely different from the boxart. i love how the sun shines on him though, that's a nice effect.

Ok so been getting ready for Mexico with Janet and am anxiously awaiting my 5th Viking so still four months left plenty of time and 2 more models to bang out with movement trays. But I've still always practicing and yes I bougt the new box set grime GW and yes I decided to quickly throw some paint down on a space marine -ultramarine- .

Cool marine, dude. I like the shade of blue and its weathering. I don't say that easily of smurfs.

And have fun in Mexico, don't get your head chopped off!

View attachment 43778View attachment 43779View attachment 43780View attachment 43781 So been away awhile and now it's time to start putting together those Vikings ya know that 5man unit of 54 mm monstrous models . Well the last one arrived and here's some progress. Once I'm done with them it's into my historic single.. And if there's enough time after that then the 3 man squad of primarchs.. As they are also what I consider main entries .. Lets see what happens for now here's some progress.

Sweet, it'll be great to see this unit finally complete. Watch out on historical single, by the way. We're going head to head on that one. No mercy!

I find it interesting that you do your weathering (like blood stains) as you go. I'll do some stuff along the way like painted on scratches or chips as their look/color is specific to that section of the figure. Blood, mud, and dust I tend to save until the end. I don't think one way is better than the other, it just struck me that you approach it a bit differently than I do.

You say that as a joke, but right now there's about a 50/50 chance I won't be there in 2017. MMSI is hosting the World Model Expo in Chicago in July of 2017. Not sure if I can justify two Chicago trips within a few months of each other. We'll see... there's still plenty of time to make a decision about it

I'm back! Did ya miss me? :p

Yay number 5 is in progress! He's looking good so far BAM.

I always find it fascinating when most of you more experienced painters will finish off a whole section (eg the armour) before moving on to another one. I'm too nervous that I'd make a mistake and have to start all over again. I'm learning to pick which areas to paint first - but I only take it to halfway before moving onto the next one. Then I come back and finish everything off.
