A BOATLOAD OF UNFINISHED PARTS - all over the two I've added to flesh out this 3 man unit. Now I'm not saying I'm gonna do this definitely, but I'm starting to play around with the idea of a fourth member which will be a STANDARD and a banner from scratch another words freehand. Freehand banners is what I feel I need to get proficient at next. So hopefully we can keep wowing the judges at crystal brush . Enjoy this update.View attachment 51648

Looking just great, BAM. These models are perfect for you. I have to say again I really like the way you're adding so much interest to what could easily be just big, exaggerated muscles by using the 'taut skin' style you've got working here. You know, John, when you paint details on the figure which are not actually modeled, that's generally known as 'freehand'....

Thank you so much Rhett . Hmmm never thought of that point. Honestly I feel alot better seeing it that way. I guess I'm thinking of actual murals on small pieces of paper. Illustrations I guess is what I'm after

nice, looking really great man! cant help to feel a bit annoyed by the guy with spear though, not your fault obviously just that pose he has looks awkwardly awkward.

I CRIED!!! No joke I wonke up this morning and saw 3comments from 3 of the "4" horseman. The best of the best . Skels , sprocket, and ten!!! This has been a greater achievement than any competition trophy, prize, publication I could ever be awarded. I'm speechless!!!

Well if they are the horseman, call me a dismount infantryman that LOVES these three. Damn, you need to make it out to a GD with these guys my brother.
If you want to do a banner with me, you should give me a call and we can skype our way through it together. Or something like that. Although I've never done a significant banner, I have all confidence that I could get it done, just need to properly brainstorm a design. Like currently I am working on the D. Elf lizard rider. He has a little triangular banner but I want to add something more epic. We should brainstorm together. PM or email me....
The only piece of constructive criticism I could offer on your truly spectacular unit (your best ever) is the hands of the spearman. Like Skel said, an ackeard sculpt, and the lack of depth on the hands makes them stand out a bit more than they should. Apologize if it's still WIP but in any case I think it'll add to the perfection.

Yeah I agree the models hands suck. Don't know why THEEE giant of the hobby makes such great models and every once In a while BAM a sucky part of a model. Just dint get it. As for those hands even though they just have a BASECOLOR on them , once I go to work on them it'll match the rest of the painting to a high degree. The thing I fear is no matter what I do to them the model still looks weird . Just a bad sculpting idea. Who knows makes no sense why that hand is backwards . They both should've been facing forward if I was the designer.
@ BFOK as for my best hmmm I think they turned out really well but in my thread I did 3 orks that will be completed once I get the bases I'm waiting for. AND THISE I HINESTLY FEEL ARE MY best array of models in a unit. Ill see if I can post them later.

Now these are my pride and joy
Orks to me are a specialty ... I live the savage nature and can really go to town with things like my famous rusty banged up armor and blood , guys , gore.
ill be finishing them up when my supplies come through!!!!
Hang tight and enjoy.

Together they look like an orc heavy metal band im also seriously tempted to give that warboss a go... you make me want all the gw stuff I had decided I didn't want, the chaos guys look really good too, the silver tower barbarian fits in well with them although looks like he's a bit shorter if not for the base

Lol yeah you got it sucks the dark oath champion is my leader and he's (chaos marauder type) the other two bad boys are from the khorn bloodreavers champion range.. They are his body guards.
