Okie no updates today to crazy with house viewings. But just almost finished with bugs FERKIN bunny!!! And ordered "field of screams bases from secret Justin studios!!! Tech bases coming in for my genestealers hybrid CB sci fi squad. And no go on the wolves I hate GW and really no others out there I had in mind 2 of those really cool wolf models from basics bricks minis but lo and behold out of print... Looking out of print. So the orks clan of 3 are on there own!!!go git boys make daddy proud. That leaves historical squad(I hope they at least take me out in a date first before screwing me and merging categories again) this time gladiators from 28mm arena Rex models. Simple 3 models in case of a screwing. Lol also historical and if I'm lucky a vehicle.upsate tomorrow on Donnie darko!!! Sleep tight.

I'm definitely looking forward to you taking on some ancient gladiators. You'll have to dial back your usual level of blood & grime in the name of realism, but otherwise you're an ideal gladiator-painter!

Usually I marvel at your work, I will sit and stare at all the amazing details you put into each mini you paint, but that rabbit...I found my self brushing past it, because the first image you put up painted such a terrifying image I literally shivered and my mind was screaming NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE. Well done bud.

Okay rabbit done . First time actually planning to compete in the fantasy single , a VERY competitive category, by actually sitting down picking a certain model and giving it everything I got instead of just picking a model I did throughout the year. Always figured why compete there are way to many unbelievable entries in that category. But if I make the finals ill be happier than a pig in shit!!! : /

Big top carnival base? Gotta be, right?
Man that's one ugly bunny. Is that Nurgle's Rot GW technical paint you've used to add the greenish yellow slime to him?

Lol yeah toadie it's deg GW nurgles Rot, did I mention I'm a games workshop loyalist. I started with being introduced to miniature at 9 years old and all the way up till now. I have painted many many models from GW to historical to busts to anything one can think of. 2/3 crustal brush trophies I have we're GW orks/ bloodreavers. So yes I loooove all things GW . I'm even a firm believer that they have the best brushes , all I use. My WN are just sitting there. Lol.but I will admit one other thing- MY PAINT RANGE ARE ALL RESPER MASTER SERIES. And that says SOETHING over 600 colors all from valleo, GW old / new rage, Andrea etc. but I go only with reaper. Its nice to have a paint that on thicker layers can be painted right from the bottle being very transparent yet full coverage. Technical paints are always and forever will be BFTBG / nurgles rot, and rust / dirt from MIG pigment powders. There you have my weapons of war.

You don't know how happy I am to hear that haha. The last time I was into the hobby I had all GW paints. But they dried out in the last dormant decade. So this time around I went with Reaper MS. They are cheaper and I like the dropper bottles. Most paint tutorials I read and watch use Vallejo and GW paint. It's refreshing to hear that an awesome painter like yourself uses Reaper. Makes me feel better about my choice haha.

Thanks muchos foxtail!!! Very much appreciated. It actually has been 5 years (almost) that I registered on to CMON- and 2 years from there I was introduced to the forums . These forums have made me recognize through advice, effort and practice that I'm finally at a point where I can sit back and look at a finished model (win or lose in comps) and say to myself woow , OMG, that looks awesome , I'm extremely happy at the quality I produce when I'm done painting each miniature. Before that it was 25 years of alot of I love painting models but I'm discouraged in the fact of how I was painting them. I wasn't happy at all. So thanks to the forums and the fact that I have to by duty and fulfillment to constantly post and show everybody whats been going on, and the enormous improvement I feel I've made because of the CMON society which are mostly close cyber friends.and some close friends period who I talk to and text regularly like our very own David Powell!!!! What a beautiful human being that gent is.

so w/o further ado THANK YOU TO THE CMON SOCIETY!!!

Top work on the evil bunny, I'll be having nightmares about that for sure lol. I agree about these forums too, we have lots of great people of varying skill levels offering help, advice or even just encouragement (which is sometimes all you need to keep you going)

Thank you sickies and lemmings. @lone lemming- actually I just looked at it through you link. Hmmm it does look like it!!! Big honor for me. The truth is no I rarely try to emulate the bigger painters as their techs are way above mine. What I can tell you I'm pretty good at matching colors for the box arts for minis. But even the box art was a little out so I tried really to mimic the cartoon drawing of the rabbit. The cover art 2d painting of the model really was what I was after . I loved it so I looked through my reaper and started selecting colors. But thanks so much for the comparison. I'm stoked!!!

BAM, no one around here is more consistently positive, generous, and stubbornly optimistic than you. You are a major contributor to the supportive and inclusive culture from which you have so richly benefited. I know that your immediate encouragement of my efforts when I summoned the courage to put my work on display for criticism was a massive boost to my confidence and motivation both, and the detailed, patient advice I received from you and others, but especially from you, forced me and continues to force me to take more risks, try new concepts, techniques, and ideas, and (above all) enjoy the process of trying to do my very best work! I've never asked you a technical question but I've gotten a detailed response that wasn't trying to get me 80% of the way there, but all the way there.
I am looking forward to whatever meet-up we are able to orchestrate in the weeks or months again. Two more distinct voices than yours and mine might be hard to imagine, but I feel a fundamental agreement with you on how and why we ought to paint tiny axe-wielding psychopaths for hours and hours and hours...
