Realism folks - organic , dark, dirty, weathered rarely going up to white and light points, as in the ever popular comic style(great in photographs) just not my thing. I enjoy my end products. If you like your own work and are happy with how you paint that’s a sign that you’ve evolved to a very hard to attain point in your painting. Practice , practice , practice folks- the more models going through your hands the better you get, and if a ton of projects you complete yearly than your going to get better exponentially. Jessica rich advocates 10,000 hours to achieve this. I see this differently 100s of models in your lifetime from where you started to where you are currently . That’s what I feel is the formula. Along the way remind yourself not so much to practice every single technique. Just practice the basics of the things your after to achieve. If you like NMM practice your 2 brush blending. If you like weathering practice rust and chips. After you have your go to tools (like in my case for freehand I like eyes) than start to branch out to other things.

BAM, these are looking amazing! Have you tried the Scale 75 ink Inktense Wood? I got a bottle not too long ago and I love it. Paint your wood with a light, creamy, brown and ivory highlights, a coat or two of that ink and it looks like real wood. Just add a few glazes of green and purple for a nice weathered effect and done.

Honestly flu I just ordered a ton of scale 75 when it comes in I shall give it a gozy gozy go. Thanks for that recipe. Just taking forever to get here.:( thanks fox and thanks can can...;)

Foxxy -this is aimed more towards beginners. Not grizzled vets who paint orks on wyverns at the highest standard. Ide say maybe 10 more models for you so in the next year bud your gonna fly higher than ever. Mark thy words. It’s what happens when folks go from super awesome to super GOD awesome!!!;)

The leader’s cape definitely looks a lot better in the leather you’ve done than the usual red.
Must be awkward trying to pose an even number of models, you can’t put the leader in the centre.
