Wishing you and your family the best brother, and i truly am sorry to here the news. I hope its nothing, but if it turns into something than that something is pretty stupid. I mean trying to take on a BAM brother....yeah i would be scared to do that even if i was the plague. Haha. More likely scenario though, is his doctor is a mini painter to, and the small spot is just splattered paint and he wasnt paying attention. All the best brother.

Lolololol your right on that one diggs- I will obliterate it!!!! Mark thy words!!! Thank you so much- it’s prinably just a pustule sack and that’s what’s causing the pain as he has the pneumonia from supper respiratory infection. Infections hurt bad when they’re let go and form the puss. But you know any news like that is always scary. So I wholey appreciate all the amazing good vibe wishes from such a bunch of golden bears!!!(favorite ncaa team Cali golden bears ;))

Congrats BaM! Sad I missed this year but it's still pretty good to see work from people you admire and enjoy that always makes me appreciate the skill and effort put into this hobby.

I totally get the anxiety and mental stress. In the end, even for people with very little ego in every facet of their life, you're still putting a piece of yourself out there and asking everyone to judge it and find every little flaw. I just hope you always realize it's worth that anguish for all the inspiring and happy moments it gives others who see what you've created!

I am a bit late with Congratulating you on the Crystal Brush Win, but I saw your squad in the cabinets and thought that for some reason
they stood out among the rest of the units, I think it was the color choices and great contrast in the miniatures against the bases.

Very happy you placed, as well as the other member (can't remember his username, sorry.), BOTH WELL DESERVED...

As a side question, when did you start competing in competition, I though I could recognize your style in some Golden Demon Pieces?

Anyway, happy painting can't wait to what's next from you.

David.

Sherds - i def missed your happy face and infectious jovial personality. Thank you so so much my friend. Hope to see you next year.
king of edoras- thank you too my dear friend. It was an amazing feeling to be amongst some of the other winners. It really was something I feel could’ve went either way between so if the other amazing entries. It’s a feeling that cannot be matched however when it happens.
Más for golden demon I’ve been competing since 1993 when the first American golden demon had its first appearance tall cedars Hall in Maryland . I competed all the way up to 2009 and at that point win 2 demons- but def did not know how to paint. I wish I was competing then with what I know now but sadly it’s gona from America . Hopefully it will return and I’ll have a much better shot;)

It’s funny because

All my models start out as a cleanly blended area with highlights na shadowing giving a real nice pop. But EVEN MR JUSTIN-weatherman extraordinaire - and owner of secret weapon miniatures, in his class , that for weathering a model from start to finish that - BLENDING GOES OUT THE WINDOWAND COLORS CHANGE GREATLY !!! It’s just the nature of the technique . In order to have the ratcheting stand out for the most part it is against, not so much a flat color but not as cleanly blended to a dark gradient. That’s why I’m always saying it’s my weathering technique vs someone else’s NMM etc etc.

Personal goal for nova open- 1) try to win best weathering for a second year in a row 2nd) mr Justin has only given best weathering 1 time to a model that wasn’t a vehicle- I hope to change that with either my skeletons, deathguard, or blue chips- there is plenty to choose from!!!

You managed to elude me again for a second year. I stuck around and chatted for a bit outside the award room, sadly did not get to talk to you :( What a blast that event was. So happy for you winning 2 awards! I was pointing out all your entries to my better half when checking out the cabinets. Unmistakable style, and your award acceptance was nothing less than what I expected. You definitely were more pumped than everyone else which is a clear reflection of the passion you show on these forums. Great entries this year. Hopefully the enthusiasm from these wins will breed even more success for you next year!

Yeah buddy you know me -I too was showing my girl that Tzeentch rider and I think I picked out every color of the spectrum -THAT MY DEAR FRIEND IS TALENT- btw this year was a clear win for them accepting the many different styles that miniature painting has evolved with.;) readability -tisk tisk there’s plenty more in that piece -including readability- no one can deny that was one of the demise impressive pieces there. Bottom line-so listen to ok uncle Johnny -gather round the fireplace boys and girls as uncle Johnny weaves you a tale of many a great painters!!! Btw I missed a few people so the most effective way I could’ve pointed me out to all you great artists was the exit scene- each time I place and hopefully I can get better and better to accommodate the surge in skill level of these amazing artists - is to always leave em laughing!!!;)
