just an FYI, but I saw your lament about Mr Giraldes (Banshee) needing to have some classes on the east coast, well if you are going to NOVA Open, he actually has a couple classes that he is giving there and there are still openings for most of them.

also, that is a great DG group you are working on there.

Nice work, its exciting when you get approached! and nice work on the commission! The base toppers have finished printing and they are on their way back to me. I have been on a painting push lately so having a stint of casting could be good soon!

Crickey! you're really pushing those chaos warriors through the roof! Every time I think you're done, you give them yet another blast from the Spice-Weasel!

btw...in case you're running out of minis to paint, look what I stumbled upon..

Those minis (and their painting style) made my jaw drop on the floor when they first came out. I still have some of their minis in their original packaging. :)

Almost there. The cohesion for the whole group is so well done. With BAM bases, these are going to look so amazing completed. Always a pleasure to wander in to this thread and see the progress.

Thanks so much everyone- your all the reason the forums exist. Foxy, Oist,MaMs , coyote -and my dude frozen tootsies:) that’s a very nice and heartfelt comment you wrote. It’s all my pleasure. Nothing like hearing praise from other equally adept painters and modellers. It’s just flat out great.View attachment 66026

Looking so good, BAM. Beautiful weathering as always, but I think you're taking it up a bit from your earlier work. The attention to detail, colour, and form of the weather is what really stands out for me. Putting the chips, the drips, and colours is so critical to really pulling this kind of thing off. This is something that I need to continue improving. Your epic basing will bring them up even further.

I'm curious how they look from a few feet away? I sometimes worry with my stuff that it looks good close up, but the weathering and details get lost when seen from a more normal viewing distance. This is one of my biggest frustrations with my current shadespire orcs. Again, as always, thanks for sharing your work. Love seeing the progress.

Wow!!! Thanks so much frozen toots!!! Lol that means the world to me any and every time someone gives my weathering praise. Now let’s see if I can shed some light on positioning. If your stuck on a model and aren’t sure where to add and place your chips scrapes etc. What I used to do before I got the hang of it was simply find a model that’s wrathered on Pinterest , google, etc even in the cmon galleries. And simply try to copy where folks have placed their damages. If let’s say you can’t find a certain orl from the shades pure group . It’s essy simply try to find something close. It doesn’t even need to be the same color. Just find armor or a model in armor close to what your dealing with.;)’now do they look good from a foot away -I try to constantly use the near/far test. A model should have a certain crispness and flow for the eyes to scan it from a) a foot away to b) 4 inched sway. I constantly look at my models close up. In addition i place then a foot away when they are drying so I’m always checking them out in one or both ways. Now with this much going on it’s not even possible to have them look as awarding 12 inches away as they do when scrutinized up close. I simply use the golden demon judging rules when picking finalists. 1) first pick all models that CATCH their eyes . These def let the viewer know something really detailed is going on and require further scrutiny . It’s when their up close that the viewers really see all that good stuff.;) hope I’ve answers some questions for you. Keep doing your weathering your goid st it. :) it will only get better and better.:)
