Hi everybody!

Seeing as I cant paint a single mini as good as the rest of you guys so Ive decided to try a whole army!lol

Ah well, here it goes:

Its an empire army around 750pts (rather small) painted as good as i can get by 20th of June, Oh yeah, Ive only just started, everything made, nothing painted:

The whole army on display base:

My favorite, the scratch built Helstorm:

Second favourite, my captain on a Pegasus:

Third comes my pistoliers:

Then handgunners:

Swordsmen:

And a slightly converted swordsman champion:

I will update this as I paint, I am planning to paint either my pistoliers, Helstorm or Handgunners first.

I know there isnt much to comment on yet, but hopefully over the next few days there will be a bit more.

Loving the pistoliers and swordsmen.

Thinning down your paints would probably be the best advice I can give at this stage. It certainly improved my meagre painting skills.

Keep up the good work, I paint one rank then get bored and wander off with 54mm stuff lol

My swordmen? :wow: They were just quickspearmen conversions, chop off the spears, add all my swords (only just had enough) and all my left hands.

How mush should I thin the paint to on my basecoat, and how much on my highlights?

Small update,

Ive painted the metal basecoat on all my models, gold basecoat on swordsmen and white(grey) cloth basecoat on swordsmen, pistoliers, handgunners and free companies:

Yep, every unit has at least 1 conversion in, most are small, nothing very impressive but makes the army unique

Update:

Painted one unit of handgunners, very badly painted + it took way to long (3 days). I would have uploaded yesterday but cmon hasn\'t been working:cussing::D. Here they are:

And a unit of black orcs that I made in about an hour:

Any suggestions how to paint quicker/better?

???:(???

To paint quicker and better just takes practice...I bet you\'re sick of tacky cliches but honestly all you have to do is practice, practice then practice some more.

Really like that Black Orc conversion btw ;)

I don\'t think the two go together really well ;) Better usually means slower and vice versa. I think the only thing the two might have in common is the practice needed. And juging your WIPs you have your work cut of you there :p

Just one question, notice the bucket in the first photo, I have been wanting to fill it with \"water\", would PVA glue work, and if so should I add it in lots of small layers, or one glob?

PVA glue would work if the bucket isn\'t too deep.
I can\'t really see from the pic.
And you should add it in one glob me thinks. Other wise the different layers will show.

And nice job on the wood, looks like an effective way to do wood fast.
The rest could use more contrast in my opinion. But if you\'re not looking to spend to much time on them I would guess that\'s normal :p

use 5 minute epoxy for the bucket of water. the pva glue will look kind of bad.

as for your stuff i see some good stuff thus far, its just not as clean as some of your stuff you slow down on.

i wouldnt worry about getting the entire army painted in this way. just slow down and enjoy it. remember if your not having fun, then its no longer a hobby.

p.s. you could also try the dip for this army i think it could work quite well.

not bad for speed painting.

you where talking about the OSL...didn\'t really see the OSL.
but i did see a very hot fuse & what looked to be a very realistic burning gun powder.
really want to know where they got there smokeless powder from:D

cheers:beer::beer:

Its all gotta be finished by June 20th for a tourny I\'m entering, so no choice really.

Wont be updating this for a week, as Im off to france on holiday, pissing off teachers and smuggling firecrackers back lol:drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:

*edit* looked at 5 min epoxy found some for reallyy cheap on ebay, but is all of it clear, or only certain types/brands and also wouldnt buying some of >this stuff< be better.
Just noticed that link doesnt quite work due to website, on the menu to the left go landscaping then water.

Army finished, and used. Due to lack of playing before we only managed to beat 28 people out of 110 pairs. Here is a shot of the entire army, as I really cant be bothered to take hundreds of individual shots, edit them, upload them and submit them, so that will come later.

Enjoy (or not):
