Oh... and, OK this is gonna be a silly question, I know... but I\'ll ask anyway: What do we do with the minis after we paint them? Do they go somewhere else...? If this is in the directions, I apologize... I missed it... :/

Thanks!

Thanks beowulf...:D Now you have my curiousity aroused (no pun intended). So, I guess then we post the minis somewhere after we paint them...? Man, I feel like such a noob again...! LOL

And, TY, too... TAB! Yes, I\'m back... for better or worse. Either remains to be seen. I have a new girl I\'m working on right now... so, stand by...

Noooo, you keep \'em. The person after you in the list gets to keep what you send too. Whatever you get is yours to paint and keep.

Just as a quick note: I neither want to send something to sakura nor do I want to get something from her. So please put me somewhere else on the list. Thank you ;)

OK... cool. I think I have it all squared away now...:p Although... I think an exchange where we painted a mini and traded it for another painted by someone else would be fun too.

And, thanks Pixie. I thought it was TAB, looking at the email address on the WoH site. I wanted to donate a mini, or painting time, and wanted to be sure I contacted the right person.

I\'ve been thinking the exact same thing for a couple of exchanges now. It would certainly help people to push themselves, I reckon, like if I was sending a mini to Dragonsreach... you bet I\'d do my best possible job. But it might turn away someone who has a lesser skill, no matter who their exchange partner is. It could take real guts to do an exchange like that, since looking at a mini up close and personal is a lot different than from a photograph on a web site.

It\'s certainly a departure from the original intent of this miniature exchange. So, thoughts about various exchange themes for future exchanges, everyone?

@Mosch: Yep, Sakura and yourself are exceptions. ;) I\'ll post the family member and previous exchange partner exceptions tonight so everyone can check them.

I\'d be honored to help you in any way TAB. I\'ll send you a note with my new address here in NC.

And, I agree with you, Modderrhu... I think it would push your attention and skill sets a little knowing the mini would be going out to another painter/collector. And, that might intimidate some people... but, to me at least, it would also be more than a bit intriquing. Waiting to get the fully painted mini in the mail and all... hoping that it might be your newest treasure. And, even if the person sending it has skills that need work... as long as the job they did on the one they send out is the very best they are capable of doing... well, isn\'t that really what this place is all about in a way? Respecting and helping one another to advance the hobby and our own personal abilities...? That was always what I hoped the CMON site would be, anyway...:)

Sorry... I babble sometimes. Just my thoughts. But... then... I\'m just a lunatic:bouncy:

I think a sending triangle would be nice. Kevin sends his unpainted minis to me, I send my unpainted minis to Mick, I paint Kevin\'s mini and send Kevin\'s painted mini to Nick. Also, I\'d participate on the spot :D

Well, I think this is a good idea for another kind of exchange-project, for example the new \'Painted-Miniature-Exchange\'. :D
In my opinion the existing well-proved \'Miniature-Exchange\' project should not be changed in this way, for the following reasons :

- A lot of people like to participate in the ME, but dont have the time to paint the mini in time (or at all).
- I am not comfortable with the idea to pass on a gift, I received from someone.
-the Miniature-Exchange became almost a tradition in CMON, and so I wouldn\'t like to stop it for something new.

...just my opinion

Have a nice day
Michael

Oh, no... I wasn\'t suggesting that the Exchange be dropped or changed in any way. I was simply saying that ANOTHER exchange where you send a painted mini to one another might be fun. I collect other artists minis as well as my own, so it would be another mini for the collection. I do this with my 2D art a lot... guys swap out pieces with one another to save commission fees and add art to personal collections.

Just a thought... but, then... most of my thoughts are controlled by medications...:)

I agree with toxc. The mini exchange started with the idea of a fun way to unload extra minis that you may not ever feel inspired to paint, so send them to someone else who may like them.

If I had to paint it beforehand, I don\'t think I\'d like it (my own work, that is) because I find I don\'t paint well under pressure. :(

Just my 2 cents.:)

I totally agree, the current exchange is uncomplicated and pretty laid back, just how I like it ;) This idea could be an alternative though.
