Silence in the library!

I don\'t get it

Very bizarre, but I can\'t understand the premise.
Also, I can\'t get over how \"outwitted\" means having a nosehaire tweezed. (Moriarty: \"Curses Holmes, you\'ve outwitted me again. What are you doing with those tweezers?\")

The off translations are kind of funny too.

The tweezers had me a little perplexed but from the wasabi roll I was giggling like a madman. Thanks for the link.

I couldn\'t be bothered to watch a whole 10 minutes of that... isn\'t it a form of torture? (Not to watch it, I mean to have your nose-hair pulled out by scary Japanese blokes in a library). And who the hell is Ernesto Hoost? ???

I think bizarre is the word. I understand if some people don\'t find it funny, but this cracks me up because of the very wierd atmosphere.

They had very advanced methods of punishment! It must have been horrible eating that whole wasabi root!

This episode reminds me of another Japanese TV spot I saw years ago. They had dug a deep, wide hole on a beach and 10 guys were sitting with loincloths in the hole. Then they threw down snakes, scorpions and other poisonous animals in the hole and the sport was to remain still in the hole. What the contestants didn\'t know was that all the animals were in fact harmless (the poison glands were removed), and that made it really hillarious watching them sitting there screaming in terror but refusing to leave.

Japanese television would be a bizarre experience. They have the whole \"be polite\" thing going on, even when they are trying to be jerks.

Don\'t get me started on that. Since living here I have read alot about Asia, and my love has grown for it.

the funny thing is, we look at Japanese TV shows and think wierd.

Here they take our extreme sports shows and videos and do the samething. lol

My Japanese Professor used to divide us up into teams and whichever team failed to respond correctly in Japanese would get a \"prize\" He had a plate of Oreo cookies to choose from. Half had Wasabi in the middle the other half did not.
