Silly question for wet pallet users

OK this has probably been asked before and I can probably guess what the answer will be however.

For those of you who use a wet pallet do you mix the paint first then transfer it to the pallet?
Or mix it in the wet pallet.

I know I know spot the idiot but I did say it was a silly question.

I have learned to put a drop of my dark color, mid-tone and highlight about 1/2\" apart on the wet palet. Put a drop or two of extender/retarder/magic wash, etc. on the drops. Now, I can pull a little bit of paint and mix with the extender. Base paint in the darker color. Pull a little bit of the mid-tone as I go on interum layers. Finally pulling a bit of the highlight for the final layers with the last layer being almost or all highlight.

So instead of 3 colors, I have an infinite range of colors from the base coat to the high-light.
